I’m reading the storyboards for my romantic comedy manga adaptation of Journey to the West that I sketched out a few years ago, and… I LOVE IT! It puts a big smile on my face! I never really thought of myself as being good at writing comedy. Usually, I’ll look at my old stuff and think it doesn’t make sense, but this is hilarious and adorable! I can’t wait to share it with everyone! I’m going to try to draw it in a way that’s simple enough that it will be as pain-free as possible. I don’t want to pour all of my energy into it, since I still want to focus mainly on my original story. But this is so cute, and I need to share it!

Whew! Page 1 of Aiyuki is finally complete! I tried something new with this page. I had trouble drawing the pictures small enough to fit them all in the page comfortably. Instead, I drew each panel as big as I wanted on a separate sheet of paper and digitally shrunk them to paste them onto a single page. It turns out very pretty that way, but it’s a lot of work, so... Hopefully I won’t have to do this with any other pages. I have to learn how to draw small.
