being a fan of the elder scrolls lore is a truly insane experience. you're like "wow. I really dig this 2920, The Last Year of the First Era book. I wonder if there's something else like that". so you go to UESP trying to find who wrote 2920 and you find that it was ted peterson and that he once said "you shouldn't really trust 2920's description of akaviri invaders because the in-game author doesn't know shit about them. he made it up and maybe some other things too"

me words no work gud. was brainstorming how Akavir can be alternate kalpa, future tamriel, and a physical place all at once, had a thought: what if they weren't, at least not in the way typically understood by the community

What if time-space in Tamriel, or rather the metaphysical Nirn, worked by different ideas of what are translated to us as cardinal directions? What if, instead of travelling to the future or past by going in a certain physical direction, there were different metaphysical "directions" one could travel on to reach different temporal and physical locations? I drew up some charts, thought myself real clever, and everything was good. Then I huffed a little too much skooma and started wondering if the different time models (kalpas, amaranth, etc) and accompanying philosophical / religious differences of different Tamriellic cultures could also be related to their respective “locations” on these "philosophaxes." (Confirmation bias? Never heard of her) These charts are the result:

Lyg as inverse of the center? As “Not Here” / “Not Now” / “Not Our Place”? The only adjacent-place truly inaccessible and all the more eldritch / strange for it?

Morrowind as Loveborne-Potential-Transcendence as described in C0DA? Alinor as antithesis Hateborne-Denial-Imprisonment where Walk-Brass would call home?

Akha in Khajiit myths going "South" to never return, Alduin the "World-Eater"

Northwesterly High Rock as Loveborne Determinism, (likely unintentional) parallels with Christianity and thus west-european tropes by association? (as opposed to Gnostic Morrowind & Nihilist Alinor?)

Cyrodiil as True Center of Each Axis, thus its metaphysical dominance over all of Tamriel / Talos as the "King of the Gods"?

Elder Scrolls: Possible portrait of Akaviri Potentate.

The tradition of depicting tsaesci in a thoroughly anthropomorphic fashion, may actually predate the "damnatio memoriae" issued against this race (once proudly prolific in all the upper echelons of imperial society) in the aftermath of dissolution of Akaviri Empire. One, after all, understands the need to assuage the apprehension of the populace being governed by creatures the sources describe as towering, eel-like and vampiric. And given the texts (having gone through stringent censorship) have been allowed but a momentary candor to suggest decidedly serpentine features of Akaviri Potentates—we should deny ourselves the comfort of this "conventionally monstrous" interpretation. I for one am not prepared to dismiss the notion of them having four arms, especially in relation to a passage lauding Savirien Chorak's ambidextrous wielding of swords. Another remarkable feature of this painting (besides its faithful depiction of imperial scale-mail armour) is that the mask looks almost identical to another famous artifact—The Battle Mask of Almalexia—which itself perhaps been made in commemoration of sinking of Tsaesci fleet at Bal Foyen.

If you’ve found your way here, then you already know how the world has a habit of pulling us toward stories we didn’t mean to seek. Perhaps you followed a rumor, a half-remembered name, or a feeling you couldn’t quite explain. Perhaps you are simply tired, and curious, and in need of something that feels old in the way the stars are old.

Sit. Rest a moment.

This blog is a gathering of fragments... Threads of forgotten history, whispered myths, and truths that slipped between the pages of official (unofficial) records. Here, I will be sharing the lore of the Kitsune: star-born wanderers, shapeshifters, and watchers of fate whose footsteps have brushed against Nirn since the Merethic Era and long before. Their stories are not shouted. They were never meant to be. They survive instead in quiet places; in broken prayers, in Akaviri superstition, in the spaces where memory should be.

You will not find neat answers here. The Elder Scrolls never grant those freely. What you will find are contradictions, lost names, and echoes of something that once mattered deeply enough to be erased. This is lore told as it exists in the world: disputed, half-buried, and shaped by those who remember it differently.

If you are a scholar, I invite your skepticism. If you are a dreamer, I invite your wonder. And if you are someone who has ever felt the pull of a path you could not see—I suspect you are already closer to these stories than you think.
