As much as I normally dislike furry stuff, Protogen are really neat looking :,) so I of course had to draw my stupid mutant wedge-headed lobster goddess as one which was n o t easy since she doesn’t even have scales let alone fur. (It’s all carapace except for feathers in a few places babeyyyy)

The morning after another successful goth night. As usual, I’m dressed so late in the evening that no good lighting can be found.
Goth nights are weird for me. I get to go out and be myself without worry, because that’s the foundation of this subculture. I don’t have to worry about restrooms, or whether or not someone cares about how I identify. Our local is especially good because my wife and I have been going nearly since the first one, so we are known. The crowd is modest - small enough for people to know each other, large enough to crowd the dance floor. I’m a special fixture in this crowd of great people. I’m happy and comfortable.
But it’s hard to feel like I exist in this setting as anything other than The Trans Woman. I don’t exist as just one more goth girl. I am that one Trans Woman. This isn’t particularly bad, and I’m projecting “alien” my hardest at all times, so I can’t really say I’m trying to blend in as one more cis lady. It’s mostly that I remain the Other, even in the place I feel the safest. It’s not what I do, or what anyone there does - it’s just part of existing. I am the Other.
