[Subs DL] ALIVE Stage Side Story - ZIX Stage - “Break It!”

Hello, hello! Oh my gosh, I really hoped to post this before the new year started, but a lot happened in the past few months. Happy 2022 to everyone though! Hopefully, this year is much better~!  ( ´ ▽ ` ).｡ｏ♡

In any case, I really loved this stage play!!! Like, it’s peak drama and peak angsty backstory, but TsukiPro (SunPro??? LMAO) tells their story in such a beautiful and delicate way.  Also, the actors are just really great! Takuto-kun and Riki-kun are just so perfect as Makoto and Mitsuru, and I hope we get to see more ZIX Stages in the future~!

It’s described as a “side story” for ALIVE Stage, but the execution, love, and dedication the staff and cast poured into it is just as phenomenal as with any of the main stages.

I did mention before that the stage play’s story is exactly the same as the “Break It!” drama CD, so if you haven’t had a chance to get a copy of the play yet, listening/reading to the drama will give you a good idea about what to expect!

I actually only subbed the main play part and not the dance live. If your program ripped your BD and combined the honpen and the dance live together, the subs will end right before the dance live starts ^^;

The play is literally just word-for-word from the drama CD, but there were some scenes removed for time. Some differences from the “Break It!” drama were the inclusion of some Growth drama CD scenes as well as the daily ad-libs.

I also changed a bit of wording from the original drama to fit the faster time stamps present in the play.

Ohara Sora (Nekomata/Two-Tailed Cat) played by Horita Ryusei

Nekomata - A cat that became a nekomata after being loved and cared for by an elderly person. They can become overweight quickly. It liked listening to the music the elderly person would play. It likes shamisen songs. Meow~ meow~

Arihara Morihito (Bai Ze/Wise White Ox) played by Ishiwatari Masshu

A sacred animal said to have deep knowledge of all things in the world. Although he was carefully raised as a celestial treasure, he is a young man who is kind to everyone and does not put on airs. He is curious about Earth and especially loves its music.

Kagurazaka Soushi (Oni/Orge) played by Yoshida Chihiro

He was raised by Shutendouji (Shiki from SolidS) ever since he was a young oni. He has a cool exterior, but is secretly firey on the inside. He's ambitious and never slacks off with his training. He's kind to the weak, compassionate, and values his friends. Rumor has it that once he sets his mind on something, he never gives up.

Munakata Ren (Kamaitachi/Sickle-Wielding Weasel) played by Ueda Shinichiro

A yokai that is said to appear in whirlwinds and cut people down. However, he's extremely kind and modest - with the expection of when it comes to his belongings (his sickles). Because he is young, he respects his yokai senpai. He is good friends with Nozomu the Raijin.

Nanase Nozomu (Raijin/Thunder God) played by Watanabe Hibiki

The so-called God of Thunder. Although he is a god, he's restless and filled with curiousity since he is young. He brings the excitement with his force and cheerfulness, and can weather any storm. He travels to Earth to hang out and is friends with Ren.

ALIVE Stage Ep 5 - Tsukino Hyakki Yakou Growth Photoshoot

Some behind the scenes photos for Growth were released for ALIVE Stage Episode 5! The theme is Tsukino Hyakki Hyakou, Tsukipro's version of the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons folktale. I'll make another post with the play's info once the official cast visuals are released. There’s lots of pictures, so read after the cut!

☆ Tsukino Hyakki Yakou ☆

At an ancient shrine, there exist black and white tenko [fox spirits] whose immense powers surpass even gods. During the day, the shrine is a place where people come to rest and relax. But during the night, strange beings congregate around the shrine. It seems as though they hold a sort of banquet night after night... [Mutsuki Hajime from Six Gravity, played by Agata Gouki, guest stars in the play as the Black Tenko]

By the way, the real snake used in this shoot is named Kyoromi-chan and will be playing the roles of Sakura and Niwa [the snakes that are with Ryota's character]. In human years, she is a young lady of about 20 years of age.

The normal costumes are traditional Japanese style to match the Hyakki Yakou setting. They're yukata and Japanese morning glory hairpieces. The new 2021 stage costume photos will be released at a later date. Look forward to it!

This time the costumers created yukata that reflect each of the characters' colors. It looks really good on Mamoru-san.

Here is a hairstyle showing more of the forehead, which enhances Koki’s yukata look.

This is a unique orange yukata design. It goes along with Kensuke’s bold wardrobe.
