The final piece of my cherished domestic Date Everything! coms by the most talented & patient & hard-working human ever — @alliezarin 💚

When I pitched this idea to Allie, I said, "Domestic bed scene, but with mini sprites of the other objects in the room." Then I proceeded to go on a tangent description about the tree spirits from Princess Mononoke and the fairies from Fantasia. "Something like them!" I said... Very descriptive, Tana... ☠️

Regardless, Allie took my idea & made something truly gorgeous, that I still can't put it into words how much it means to me~ 😭💚

So, here! Have a scene that happens every morning for my two "just friends", but pining for each other, darlings. The ones that have perfected the deranged mental gymnastics, which could win a gold medal at the Olympics. The ones that go so far in their denial, they will stop at nothing at convincing themselves that the other will never see them more than a friend. Except, are subjected to my torture of dragging them through the slowest of burns with the most secure domestic intimacy. Plus, are constantly under the watch of nosy objects friends, who meddle and tangle the strings of fate between them as a little game of 'which marionette will snap under the pressure today'.

If it isn't obvious — Betty & Tina are the worst of the entire lot~ 🤭

oh, god. where do i begin. first, i suppose: savina & severa …. my poor, tragic girls. of course, i am the cause of their tragedy — still, they make my heart ache all the same. their birthday is february 29th, my sweet leap year babies, and so naturally i would celebrate that early by posting something horribly heartbreaking. i could ramble about them and the importance of their story to me, but i want to let the art speak for itself.

second, and most important of all: this breathtaking piece was done by one of the loveliest people in the world, and who i have the absolute honor & privilege of not only knowing but calling a friend: @alliezarin. yes, i know, ya’ll see us being ridiculous on main all the time. you guys are probably like we get it, you love her. however, i am going to force you to sit through another speech about it. from the start, even before we knew each other, allie has always been a joy to work with and an extraordinary artist. allie’s immeasurable talent is perhaps only outweighed by her endless compassion. she is so funny, and so kind, and so very, very wonderful. i will say it a million times, but i would urge anyone reading this to check out her blog, her ig, her twitter — all of which you can find on her carrd as well. her commission sheet is here on tumblr and can be found on her carrd too, but please note she’s soon to take a very well deserved break period. even if you’re unable to commission her, please take a look at her work. she deserves support in all of its forms, and it will not be a moment of your time wasted. aside from monetarily supporting artists, the importance of engagement cannot be understated, especially now, when things like ai art and theft are on the rise. likes, reblogs, comments, shares .. do your part if you can. please.

Full Name: Gabrielle al-Khoury Navarrete

Age: 21+

Birthday: November 10 (Scorpio queen)

Undergrad: International Politics (Pre-Law) with a Minor in Art History & Archival Studies.

In this timeline, Gabrielle comes from a family of diplomats, socialites, and academics, so her legacy is one of international relations and intellectual gatekeeping. She is brilliant in every sense of the word and she knows it. Rather than entangling herself in the messiness of romantic relationships, she channels her ambition into her academic and professional goals, with her sights set firmly on a future at the ICC. She meets Ominis (who, naturally, comes from powerful and deeply corrupt political family) and he becomes her only true intellectual equal/confidant. United by a shared contempt for their families’ shadowed legacies, they bond over their shared appreciation of red wine and classic rock on vinyl.

I finally had the honor of commissioning @alliezarin who i have been eyeing since i joined the fandom in late summer. oh my goodness this is just gonna be the most incoherent post ever but I KNEW that I needed her to draw Gabrielle, and when I had the brilliant idea of writing a modern AU, the universe just worked it's magic and the timing was perfect. it was such a chaotic fun experience working on this together and bringing her to life :')

bonus: 6 characters that inspired my OC

Before the first classes met in fall '24, the trio was formed during the mandatory Georgetown Law Orientation, which yes, I will be writing in the future because why not. Sebastian is part of the package deal but I don't have any details bc I have not thought too hard about him just yet lol.

Class Schedules

Just for fun (and because I might need to discuss their academics at some point) I decided to create 1L schedules for Gabrielle, Ominis, and Sebastian (this took so much research and it reminded me of my own process when selecting courses in both undergrad and grad school).

Gabrielle's 1L year is a masterclass in academic engineering. Her objective was the mastery of traditional doctrines to secure the grades necessary for the Journal of International Law. She has a preference for early mornings and front-row participation. The spring semester allowed her to begin specializing. She almost certainly selected Introduction to International Law, a course that covers treaties, the UN, and international human rights (fun fact: I studied IHRL in undergrad! most difficult exams of my life, even when open book).

Sebastian's 1L schedule is defined by a different set of priorities. He thrives in courses that emphasized oral advocacy, strategic combat, and the human element of the law. He strategically avoided the early starts of Sections 1 and 2. In the spring, Sebastian’s focus shifted to Criminal Justice, the course where he truly shines as a future litigator. While the course technically covers procedure, Sebastian likely used his 1L elective to take Criminal Law, focusing on the substantive requirements for liability, such as insanity and self-defense.

Ominis represents the most distinct 1L profile of the trio. He is a classic candidate for Curriculum B (Section 3). This "innovative and integrated" approach is (apparently) notoriously left-leaning and theory heavy, attracting students who view the law as an instrument of justice and social change rather than a a bunch of technical rules. His spring was dedicated to Democracy & Coercion and Government Processes; the former allows Ominis to examine the power of the state from a historical perspective (something him and Gabrielle bond over).

Them being playful, them in fifth year when she was still more shy, and more of their beautiful wedding day 🥹❤️ I am so touched by how beautiful this is, it really captures their relationship and I am so so grateful to have been able to commission Allie, it has been such a blessing to have gotten to know you, I’m really grateful to have become your friend!!! And know that I’ll be back to commission OUR babies for Lenthorne hehe
