There is an entire category of superhero that became a superhero because they wanted friends and I find it truly hilarious that the Young Avengers, arguably some of the most badass heroes in Marvel, all joined the team because they were lonely

Ok I do have to say while the MCU is V consistently disappointing, and this post IS IN NO WAY defending it as a studio, I THINK we all have to stop exaggerating and making a mythology out of the non MCU Marvel projects. Like the X Men are by far my favorite team in the comics but I would honestly say in terms of general quality the Fox XMen are like, FAR TOO CELEBRATED AS PERFECT for a franchise that most recently gave us the directed by a r*pist Dark Phoenix (EDIT: mistakenly thought this was directed by Br*an S*nger, when it was truly written by someone else. It is a horrible movie tho) and the horribly white washed New Mutants.
Don't even get me started on the Amazing Spider-Man movies lmao. Andrew Garfield is maybe my favorite current working actor but y'all... Y'ALL we can not be sitting here pretending that written-in-a-boardroom mess is even worth remembering for anything more than having a nice suit, and strong lead actor. Also the I really wish I watched the same Venom movies y'all seem to have but they are just horrendous. Not even bad in a fun way, they are WILDLY boring, and are not nearly as charming as everyone here seems to pretend they are lmao.
Hell, even the Marvel Netflix projects, which technically took place in the MCU, but where produced seperately, are FAR from perfect. Even the very best of them had some pretty bad pacing, and the very worst (looking directly back at Iron Fist and the Defenders team up) are almost unwatchable.
Again, I'm in no way defending the MCU, I'm just a little too pedantic to not get a LITTLE annoyed whenever I see people justifiably complain abt MCU also hyping up stuff that is just like, equally bad most of the time, if not far worse.
I'm gonna read that comic Alex recommended to me and spider Gwen
