1. I got to run. Maybe only for 15 minutes and maybe at only 75% of my body weight and most certainly with pain but hey, I got to run. Running feels good. 2. My coaches made fun of me for wearing too much green and eating a green apple and wearing sandals with socks. That’s what happens when you go to Oregon State. We have a lot of dam pride in our school. 3. Talking to my mom. Twice. In one day. And she asked about things I thought she didn’t care about and it felt good to talk about. 4. I did core twice today. I’ve officially done core longer than I’ve done actual cardio today and that’s weird but also I feel very strong. 5. I’m in bed at 9:30 so kudos to me. 6. NICOLE COMES HOME TOMORROWWWWWW. I have been without my other half for far too long. 7. My hair is finally lightening up. Only I would be happy from this fact. 8. I’ve worn my adventure hat every day since I got here and have yet to go on actual adventures. It’s like every day here is an adventure in a way. 9. My family came home from Island Park so I have no reason to be jealous of them anymore. Now they have to go about their mundane lives just like I do. I shouldn’t find joy in that at all, but for some twisted reason I do. 10. I stole Kala’s pizza. It was delicious.
Press Release
Calling all athletes–aspiring, elite and those in need for rehabilitation, you can improve your performance and defy gravity with the latest technology of anti-gravity, Alter-G Anti-Gravity Treadmill by Kinetics Advance Physiotherapy.
I won’t bore you to details because I wanted to share you my experience. I was fortunate to be among the first to use this NASA patented device that focuses not only for athletes but as well as individuals that needed to enhance their overall well-being. Here’s a quick information so you will know the benefits.
So, read on improvement in the performance and recovering better. Even Kobe Bryant and Lebron James used this to recover from their injuries as professional basketball players.
Yesterday morning, I was with Jaymie Pizarro and tried Alter G. The staff of Kinetics were very kind to demonstrate the technology, well we experienced first hand how it feels “inside” the anti-gravity treadmill.
I was scared actually. The thought of tripping and floating at the same time cannot escape my mind. After taking shots of Jaymie’s extraordinary running on the moon I wore a chute to secure myself in the small chamber. The chamber is where the magic happens: imagine how astronauts train with zero/nil gravity, this is the closest I have been to NASA (lol)!
Why the boxing you asked? No, it isn’t because I’m doing kickboxing, they showed how the technology works (while you’re running or walking), you can do other mobility exercises for faster and effective recuperation and recovery. The Bull Runner Jaymie, on the other hand get to try how it is for fast athletes to become faster without the fear of ITBS, shin splints or ankle sprain because of miscalculation during running along the road or trails. Imagining myself to suffering any injury, I can even do stationary drills (standing and jumping in one foot and then the other) without the fear of injuring my spine, my hips or my knees or any joint for that matter.
The wonder of Alter G is that you can actually have a quality workout for only little time. You may discredit my claim on this but after using the treadmill, the effort you did can equate a 30-min to an hour of quality workout or running a decent 5-km run.
Laura and Diana were eager to explain the new technology of Alter G Anti-Gravity Treadmill. Now Kinetics doesn’t only give this one but is actually a crossover gym, so athletes who need specializations in their field can rehabilitate at the same time, improve their performance inside the facilities of Kinetics.
How much by the way? For 15 minutes, it costs a reasonable price of PhP 1,500 (as of November 2014). Remember Kinetics Advance Physiotherapy does not only offer this service but you can also have other therapy by certified and experienced PTs that can help you.
===
A gravity defying training experience await athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and regular individuals alike, as Kinetics Advance Physiotherapy officially launched the country’s first AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill through an event last November 8, 2014 in Fort Bonifacio.
Developed parallel to the technology used by NASA to train astronauts, the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill gives its users the opportunity to run and train without pain. This is made possible through its unweighting technology, which precisely reduces one’s weight up to 80% while walking or running with the machine – something that resembles the feeling of walking on the moon.
Recognized by specialists abroad as an integral of the world’s best athletes’ training and rehabilitation, this new tool aims to revolutionize how Philippine sportsmen train – even while recovering from injuries. “I started prescribing AlterG’s partial weight bearing therapy and now my ACL patients are jogging earlier than ever. The machine makes it easier and less painful for my patients to begin closed knetic chain movement faster after surgery,” said Dr. Charles Preston, MD, Muir Orthopedic Specialists from Walnut Creek, CA. The machine’s unquestionable benefits have also lead to the patronage of notable sports teams such as the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Bears, LA Lakers, and Manchester United, and elite distance runners Dathan Ritzenhein and Shannon Rowbury.
As a rehabilitation tool beyond athletics, the AlterG has likewise transformed how physical therapists help their senior patients and those with post-operative conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis, among others, to return to their normal physical routine – without the risk of injuries. The use of the machine in such cases are likely due to its ability to unweigh individuals, which reduces the risks of further muscular tissue damage. Results yielded from the AlterG also goes beyond the physical benefits, as it also gives its patients an emotional and physiological effect of hope and recovery because of its ability to restore mobility while on the machine.
Apart from its use as a means to speed up and aid in rehabilitation, the AlterG also provides horizontally challenged individuals an avenue to shed added weight pressure on the lower body during a run on the machine. Accompanied by a strict diet and continuous use of the machine for cardio exercises, running on the AlterG has been proven to a more effective path to weight-loss – as compared to other cardio exercises.
In the Philippines, Kinetics Advance Physiotherapy is the first and only rehabilitation clinic and gym crossover that gives you the game changing experience of the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill. Kinetics’ rehabilitation team is equipped with the proper knowledge and training to address the concerns and objectives of its growing clientele, in the best and fastest way possible.

Defying Gravity with Alter-G! Press Release Calling all athletes--aspiring, elite and those in need for rehabilitation, you can improve your performance and defy gravity with the latest technology of anti-gravity,
Valentine's Day!
*I started writing this yesterday (on the actual Vday--I'm a day late, got caught up in "Vday activities" ;) )
This morning, I could not move. I hit snooze at least 7 times. By the time 5:35 rolled around, I had to give up. Even if I got on the Alter G tmill by 6, that put me in line with 7am finishing plus showering...but I hadn't even packed my bags. I tried to fall back asleep, but never really fell back into that 'deep sleep' phase. At least I had heat on my posterior shoulder muscles where I've been sore since the run. I really wanted to run while everyone was at Brick, so I'd have some company, but eh...can't move, can't move!
I got up by 7:22 & was still feeling beat up. I used my personal massager--no no no, not that one, (that one is night time use only! ;) :P )
http://www.brookstone.com/active-sport-handheld-massager_10629889_2?bkeid=search|google|bidword|active_sport_handheld_massager&mkwid=sZJVW3Ie4&pcrid=8809808604&pmt=p&kw=active%20sport%20handheld%20massager&gclid=CMTV_fSDn64CFacQNAodclKu3A
I used this all over my body for a good 10 minutes, especially on my shoulders & quads.
Movement was marginally better, so I proceed to eat, dress & get to school. I taught the Kindergarteners tag games. I was complemented on my ability to see what didn't work in the first class & adjusting it for the 2nd class, where it was run a bit smoother. I watched the other teachers for the rest of the day. Being Vday, the kids were hopped up on sugar & classes had a looser structure.
I wore my Vibrams to school & the kids in my classes went nuts over them! While asking my Kindie's if they had any questions, they raised their hands to ask 'why are your shoes so weird?' When I shooed them away to call on the next student, they would ask the same question. haha! Back at my school, my 3rd & 4th graders were squatting down to put their fingers between my toes to check it out! I'm realizing the balance of being friendly with them, yet being authoritative.
I got in a long boring Alter G run in the afternoon. I had to reduce the body weight to 85% to take some pressure off my calves. I ran about 9 minute miles over the course of the hour. I should reduce my body weight by 15% and run 9 minute miles on a normal basis :D
My Vday was lovely...I had a lovely man cook me a vegetarian dinner--and it wasn't just pasta in the pot...there was mixing, boiling, sauteing and baking! And wine! Very lovely indeed :D
Every time I walk on the AlterG treadmill I sing "To Dance Again" from AVPM.
It just seems like a fitting song because I'm finally walking without risking falling for the first time in a long time. I even almost jogged a little for the first time in four years. So yeah I always sing that song when I use it. lol.
