I recently saw a post where someone said they used JoyToKey to button map a Nintendo Joy-Con to be a shortcut keyboard for their drawing program

Needless to say, I'm using these Joy-Cons that someone was gonna trash as my (100% free)shortcut keyboard. I cannot stop nerding out about how cool this is, and how excited I am to fully integrate these into my art-making process! I did buy a grip that can charge the Joy-Cons while you use them but like $12 bucks for so so many buttons, is a great deal in my opinion.

This was my first go round of button mapping, after I'd done my initial assignments, I realized that there are 3 additional inputs for pressing a single button in quick succession 1>2>3>4 so each button can have up to 4 inputs mapped to it at once! How wild is that! So I may rework this entire chart to better utilize that feature! But it's so cool how many shortcuts these Joy-Cons can give me quick access to! And with my very thin connector piece, it's super simple to hold these both in one hand, or sit them on my desk or lap, I believe I got it off of Etsy but that was many years ago, so I no longer know what the shop name is. Sorry :/

Looking at this post, I am also now realizing holding multiple buttons is an additional mapping option, much to think about, many discoveries 🤯 thank you @dizzyisdizzy for this beautiful beautiful knowledge, hoping your hands are always limber and your art always flows freely <3

This is so me, I am always saying this quote. Maybe one day I will design a tattoo that captures its essence or maybe just the quote out right. It is such a good reminder that community and our support systems are there to be utilized, and not leaning on those around you is the best and quickest way to completely crumble or fall to far that you cannot return form.

I drew a lot tonight, and I was happy with a majority of it, I'm sure I'll take and post some photos of what I did at some point, but that's a task for future me! >:3

I feel so silly for not setting up an index structure for my main blog where I post all my art, like I have over 400 posts to manage now, and set up a system that can adapt and grow with what I do on my blog.

Part of me is excited to get everything organized and situated in a way that feels good to my brain, and hopefully makes it easier to search my blog and find stuff, especially since over time there will be even more posts.

But another part of me is dreading the work I'll need to put into sorting and checking, and linking tags, but if I don't do it now, it will be even harder in the future.

The best time to start was in the past, the second best time to start is now!!!

I am planning to use a nesting system to view different fanarts I've done, based on media type(games, movies, shows, ect), and open a different page devoted to say, all the shows I've ever made, or plan to make fanart for, cause there is so much fanart I've already made and I'm sure I will make more. And I'm ALWAYS discovering more media to take interest in :3
