People hate Mordred because they hate Morgana. Something I should probably make more clear in the game, but I suppose I didn't really have where to since Mordred only knows what Morgana wants them too.

Thing is... Even though people know she was wronged by Uther, some have little sympathy for her. Because when the Uther died, Morgana immediately came to Camelot to demand she be made queen, only to find this boy, who had no idea he was the heir, no one had.

They hate her in Tintal because they fear she'd try to claim back the land. They hate her in Lothia because she cheated on the Duke, and because they all suspect she practices dark magic. They hate her because there are murders they know she committed but can't prove.

They hate her because if Arthur never reached out to her or Mordred, it must mean she is too disgraceful to be associated with.

Merlin made sure to spread rumors of how she hates Arthur and wants the throne.

They hate her because she abandoned her firstborn for a bastard. And people have no love for bastards.

Mordred is hated by association.

And, another thing I want to explain more, the Continent does not have my sorcerers. Healers who use the power of the Goddess are plenty, but sorcerers like Morgana and Merlin are scarce. Gareth didn't inherit her power. Which I should have made clear.

As Mordred grows up, I'll try to make these clearer, and maybe rewrite a convo to show it.

The Mage: You are both teenagers when it happens.  The Mage had done something wrong with their spell and now their hair is an unfortunate shade of pink.  But they can’t bring themselves to care, when you see them.  Your guarded eyes suddenly brightening and a delightful sound slipping out of your mouth.

It is a beautiful sight.  One they’d like to see it again, one they’d like to cause again.  They decide as their heart beat increases and it suddenly becomes more difficult to breathe.

The Royal: They don’t know what they did really.  It’s not like you haven’t seen them trip before.  But whatever happened it caused your hand to fly to your mouth as choked laughter sounded around you.  And their face is flushed, but not from embarrassment.  A new and increasingly familiar feeling of warmth that you seemed to cause heated their cheeks.

They make an effort after that, to make you laugh again.

Alistair: He watches you laugh, surprise and adoration in his eyes.  He’ll laugh with you quickly afterwards.  You’ll notice afterward how he tries to draw more laughter out of you.  With a sly smirk and hopeful eyes, often pouting exaggeratedly if you don’t.  Your laughter becomes a goal for him.  For as long as you two are together.

Maeve: Just as this is the first time you’ve laughed in front of her.  This is the first time you’ve seen her look so openly surprised.  An amused twitch of her lips is the only acknowledgement of her achievement.  But when you’re done, and your business take you elsewhere she grabs your hand and keeps you close throughout the day.

The Healer: You watch them tilt their head at you, brow raised, as your laughter comes unbidden from your mouth.  Their eyes are strangely pleased when you finish laughing, but you here nothing from them.  Not until much later, during a conversation with Alistair.

“I made them laugh.”  It is a simple brag.  But one you hear them repeat many times that night.

Dorin: He jumps the moment the first sound leaves your lips.  Eyes worried and almost panicked before he recognizes your laughter for what it is.  Then it is clear he doesn’t know what to do, body still as you finish laughing.  He doesn’t mention anything, letting the conversation continue as it had, if you wished to.  That doesn’t stop you from noticing whenever his eyes dart towards you whenever he thinks you aren’t looking.

Everytime I feel like I figured something out, You just open a door for even more questuons. There is so many things that we don't know and it just keeps hooking me in. I never wanted to know more about a character's past than I want to know about the MC. Thanks for giving us such an amazing story and characters ❤

I wanted the MC to be a bit of a puzzle themselves. The reader may control all that they do, almost all they think and even how they feel. But I wanted a part of them to be locked in the past - at least, for a while longer. They don't want to think about it, don't like to linger on memories. So the text actively fights against any mention of it.

But, of course, no one can hide forever and no thoughts can always be guarded. Like a slow predator, the past stalks your footsteps. And you'll be able to have glimpses into it.

Until, of course, the whole painting becomes clear.

Same ask but with a twist 😅 MC is presumed dead after an intense battle, but no one has ever seen the body. How does RO react if after years of searching, find MC, but MC is now a broken mess, body full of scars and maybe lost an arm?

Years Later MC is Married post. 

Vik: Whatever price, they will pay it. They go to Alice, they go to any mage, when all else fails, they pray to Yenia for a blessing and give up whatever needs to be given up to bring you back. 

Alice: She will care for you, healing what she can of your mind as best she can. It is a long process, and her magic is not capable of it, but she will try. Your scars and arm can’t be healed either, by her magic, and soon she has to resort to asking Yenia for another blessing. 

Marcol: He’s angry at himself for failing you, but you are tortured and broken and the only thing he can do is make your moments as comfortable as possible. He won’t resort to magic to fix you, nothing good can come from that. All that’s left is to make the rest of your life peaceful as possible. 

El: They do whatever it takes to research a way to help you, to save your mind, if not your body. 

Orion: They weep for you, and try to make you comfortable, cooking for you and being there for you even though they can’t bring your mind back or your body back. 

Talarae: She’s furious, with herself for not being their for you, and at the world for destroying you. She will stay at your side and care for you, but she will take lots of time to herself to beat out her frustrations in a bar fight, or to sob in another room. 

Yenia: She nurses you back to health with her magic. She knows the price of using her magic, something must be taken in exchange for your mind returned and your body whole once again, but she would pay any price for you.

The hate stems from your being Ysonia’s child. Almost the entirety of the kingdom dislikes Ysonia because they believe her to be a snake (lol), and so by extension, they hate you as well.

Elesyth also knew Alapharen personally (albeit not as well as others) and thought her a perfect queen, so she really resents Ysonia for trying to replace her.

I read that Sarizhu will only marry a M!MC but there won't be romance so I assumed she was a lesbian? but if you play as her there is a few male ROs so I'm not sure anymore 😅

the lack of romance with a male mc is a conscious decision on sarizhu’s part, but it’s a lot more apparent if you play as yibeduzi (◕ᴗ◕✿)

"Agravain wants to help because they're sympathetic to Morgana's cause, and what Mordred has been through, being a bastard themselves. Unlike Mordred tho, they don't have someone like Accolon or Junia or Gareth until they come to Camelot and make friends" It's kinda sad that they never had a positive/loving figure in their life as a kid but at the same time not everyone hates them and wants them to die like they do Mordred. I don't know which one had a harder life 😢💔

I was a bit wrong tho now rereading, Agravain has their mother, but she's been really mistreated and that added to Agravain's vengeance. And they got hate too, being an illegitimate child.
