Rewatching the Marvel movies, and really, while I never liked the end they chose for Steve Rogers for multiple reasons(the idea that a character, whose main motivation has always been about protecting others, would be willing to take his strength away permanently from those who need it simply so he can have romantic love is absurd and insulting, as is the idea that he could somehow be happy knowing that his best friend was currently undergoing torture and brainwashing to be used as a killing machine without doing something about it) now that I've spent over a year more or less trapped inside away from the world, the fact that that was essentially Steve's life almost until he died(given how famous he is, it's not like he could go anywhere or make any friends without potentially corrupting the timeline, something I can't see him being willing to risk) is deeply depressing. I can't imagine him not losing his mind.
