i posted this originally on x, but i'm just gonna put this here too, with some major changes
it's not that adrian hates grace, they think he's wonderful, but if only he and their rocky didn't have a unhealthily codependant relationship, it's really starting to get on their nerves.
adrian understands, the two have been alone in space with nothing but each other for so long, it's only logical for them to form a bond so intimate. but it is unhealthy.
that's what irks adrian, they know it's bad, the doctors tell grace and rocky too, yet the two refuse to listen, still intertwined both physically and psychologically.
hence adrians dilemma of wanting to get closer to grace but also scorning him for endorsing this behaviour.
news of adrians "jealousy" — as the tabloids call it, reaches the ears(auricles?) of a xenophobic thrum of eridians that have been suspicious of grace ever since he arrived on erid. i mean, come on, light? radiation? how are they supposed to know whether or not the alien's lying?
the leader of the thrum invites adrian to one of their meetings, hoping to get some insiders information considering adrian is saviour rockys spouse and has the authority to enter and leave the aliens biohabitat as they please.
adrian, of course, upon receiving the invitation in their mailbox(or the eridian equivalent of one) is pissed. they immediately fly into a rage and how dare these people insinuate that i would betray my mates trust to go to their stupid meeting. howdarethey.
they calm down once rocky comes back to their shared home. rocky just wanted to inform their beloved mate on how he and grace decided to finally go to therapy to work out theur codependancy. he did not expect to run into adrian throwing furniture around like an athlete.
before rocky can convince adrian to calm down, they throw the letter, the invitation, towards rockys direction and yells at him to read it. rocky quickly scans the piece of text and doesn't even finish reading it before throwing the letter out from their home.
rocky is all but a ball of anger and rage and goes, how dare they call grace a lower life-formation! they should all die! and adrian agrees with a vehement growl of approval. the two eridians marriage troubles are all solved via their shared wrath over the disrespect shown to their beloved human
the end.
