Project Genius is an android skunk appearing character from WOID: The Future Years(c)

He was invented by Tsubasa’s engineering company with the mind of Tsubasa. However, Genius has proven to be perhaps more intelligent than Tsubasa and her team. Although he has an advantage intelligence wise, he is kind, humble, pure hearted, curious and tranquil. Sometimes his kind nature can make him easily taken advantage of as he does not like violence. However, he is always willing to do the right thing and fight for those he loves.

idk if anyone else really enjoys the alien franchise, but i’ve been particularly obsessed with the latest installment and andy gives me such cas vibes it’s crazy. within seconds of him crossing my screen, i mentally adopted the slightly broken android as one of my many little pookie bears.

the androids in aliens are one of the coolest parts of the franchise. i love bishop in aliens, samuels in alien: isolation, and walter in alien: covenant. the likable androids give such detroit: become human vibes and i love it.

fuck i love that as i’ve grown up, the media i enjoy consuming has grown and changed with me, but at its core, most of it still has key facets of other movies, shows, and video games that i love. media is so fucking cool

People leaning in to look into each other's eyes to check if their androids or not, watching for a spark of manmade light or robotic eye adjustments

A character in a sci-fi story I am working on is an android, a human brain controlling a large many-armed crane. Because her limbs are built too weak to lift her whole body, she moves via a track mounted on the ceiling. She is able to move more freely in lower gravity, but can't use that very often. Her mobility limitations are treated as important, but she still has many interests outside of her disability and leads a fulfilling life. I know that fully fictional disabilities are sometimes viewed as being worse representation, and I understand why, so I wanted to check if this character concept needs more work?

I think this is a neat concept for a character, and I personally am a fan of seeing more non-human characters in speculative fiction who are physically disabled. I think there's a lot of storytelling potential in considering the ways non-human characters would experience disability differently from human characters and how that might look.

It's true that inventing fictional disabilities can potentially be bad representation, but that tends to hold more weight in a real-world setting and with human characters who could just as easily have been written with a real-life disability. As you've already established, your premise is science fiction and far enough away from the real world that I don't see a problem with it. And as an android, this character probably wouldn't experience the same kinds of disabilities that a flesh-and-blood human would, so I don't have a problem with writers getting a little more creative on that front.

Two character concepts from "The Dune Force", an original story I'm writing !!

Erton (tall one) and F1D0 (small one) are two of many main characters in the story. Erton serves as a assistant for a disabled human girl named Adora and F1D0 is more or less of a companion created by another main character. Erton doesn't have a definite gender, unlike F1D0 ( who is a male robot, he/it). So, in the story, Erton is referred to as it/its or they/them.

Both robots have developed sentience, especially after living with humans for so long. Erton is oftentimes nervous, helpful, clumsy, and kind. While F1D0 is resourceful, clever, brave and curious. Erton can speak actual words, in contrast to F1D0 who speaks on chirps and noises.

I don't know where I got inspiration for Erton, but F1D0 was inspired by Wall•E and EVE.
