Tobirama is Hashirama’s anger translator. Hashirama is over here trying to be tactful and diplomatic with other clans/villages, knowing his reputation as the God of Shinobi means that everyone will always be on their toes around him and he needs to make them know that he can be trusted. That he’s not gonna kill them at the drop of a hat.

But there are moments where even his patience cannot bear and he just takes a deep breath and goes grim with his eyes closed and some people think they’ve just managed to one up the actual god of Shinobi and humiliated him and are feeling pretty proud of themselves. Then Tobirama who’s been standing behind Hashirama the whole time steps forward and starts explaining with a tone edged with a freezing chill about what exactly Hashirama is capable off but will not do because he is above it but regardless he explains what exactly will happen to them in the long run if they reject this offer of alliance because doing so is guaranteeing their clan’s/village’s own demise without Hashirama ever having to move a finger. Raising his voice if he has to. Filled with barely kept derision at the audacity they have to think they could have an upper hand against them. Then he takes a deep breath and steps back just as Hashirama opens his eyes and continues the meeting as if nothing had happened.
