Can someone explain to me why YouTube is putting ads in the middle of videos against creators requests??

Like the ASMRtists I watch or sleep music I listen to has ads in the middle and that never used to happen! Some of the ASMRtists I watch have said that they have their settings set so that shouldn't happen but it does? And it's not even like one ad it's 5 sets of 2 ads each. So as I am about to pass out all relaxed I hear two blaring ads disturbing my sleep?? Like does anyone know why??
