Yeah, Cloti doesn't have much similarities to Noctluna besides the superficial "childhood friends" and "childhood promise" thing.
Even that title of “childhood friends” is a bit of a stretch. Cloud and Tifa had only one conversation, iirc. Tifa only started to pay attention to Cloud after he told her of his plan to go into SOLDIER, at which point she made him promise to save her whenever she was in trouble. Cloud forgot that promise, and when they met again, he was very rude to her.
Whereas for Noctluna, we see how they became friends when they were children, and they kept in touch throughout the years even if miles separated them. Their arranged marriage was even welcomed by both, showing how much they want to be together.
So, I don’t understand how fans can accept NoctLuna then deny Clerith when these two ships are the ones with so much similarities, while they push for C/loti and claim parallels.
Maybe it’s just because of preference, sure. I still don’t get it though.
And maybe I never will.

I follow the clerith tag, and I'm tired of being notified by tumblr about "excellent" clerith posts that AREN'T even a little bit pro Clerith. If your post content doesn't have anything pro Clerith in it, and instead is pro-c/t and/or anti-clerith tag it appropriately. Don't be lazy and just type both ships without specifying if it's for that ship or not. KEEP YOUR C/T STUFF TO YOUR OWN TAG, WILL YOU? K. Thanks, bye.

So, I wasn’t planning on showing this because I didn’t want people to send me anon hate, but since I’ve seen people say CT is getting confirmed because all they’ve seen are screencaps of T*fa yanking Cloud’s hand... Well, I just had to share what really happens.
As you can see, T*fa is trying to get Cloud to go with her somewhere and is yanking on Cloud’s hand, but he refuses to move and even gets annoyed! He shakes his head to say “no” and then T*fa gets mad.
Long story short, Cloud’s rejecting T*fa.
This, this right I here. “Zack’s” weapon in Aerith’s church. I’ve got a lot to say about this. Z/erith shippers (and Cl/oti shippers too) oftentimes boast that this is “Zack’s” sword placed symbolically in Aerith’s flowers as evidence that Cloud and Tifa moved on, and that Zack and Aerith are “canon” in the lifestream. This is, this is just a little bit nit-picky of me, but don’t forget the Buster Sword’s origins. Despite how many times I hear it, I see it, or it is spat like venom into my face, this is not Zack’s “weapon.” This weapon belonged to Angeal first, so theoretically you could say that this “proves” the authenticity of Aerith X Angeal (if that’s even a ship) and say they reunited in the lifestream. Zack had it, he died a tragic Hollywood style death, and he gave it to Cloud, the last wielder of this bad baby. Cloud is the one who put it there, (most likely considering he put it before Midgar too) so it was NOT Zack’s doing. It doesn’t prove anything in the Z/erith ship. I’m going to leave you all with the fact that in MOTF, Aerith harshly rejects Zack in the lifestream. This can be screeched by Z/erith’s and Cl/otis that this isn’t “canon material”, but if that is the case, neither is the remaining compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Peace out, Cleriths ✌️
