You know what I need? I need a fic where the Supers put their bloody foot down for once. Where they do not come back after being pushed. Where they do not swallow every insult and humiliation and hurt under the deceptive guise of the eternal excuse of 'oh the poor Bats are so broken they need more patience more love more unasked for forgiveness'. For once where they can say 'Fuck this shit if you dont want me I wont sacrifice my self respect my time my relentless efforts and my feelings in a misguided attempt of fixing a relationship which is neither desired nor respected.'

For one goddamned time I want to read a healthy relationship dynamic where there is effort from both sides, where the Bats have to face some goddamned well deserved consequences of their actions.

I'm fucking fed up reading fics where the Supers are bending over backwards to accodomate the Bats in every relationship dynamic because their partners are repressed or broken or whatever shitty issue of an issue.

I will not live my life with the fear of practicing my own religion. I will not live in the shadows, spine bent, and apologetic about my own existence. I will not live my life catering to the hypocrites and the cowards who consistently blind themselves to my people's pain and humiliation.

We cannot live in peace and harmony with these fuckers no matter how ideal and utopian it sounds. They won't let us. Their religion won't let us. Their faith and belief and the so-called education they have received from generations won't let us. These people who laugh at the misery of those poor hindu women and children crying beside the bodies of their husbands and fathers. These animals who celebrate this horror show on social media and congratulate the terrorists. These monsters who would rather be politically correct and appear secular than open their eyes to the reality of this nightmare.

In fact it shouldn't even be classified as oppression if the state decides to incarcerate and even execute a person supporting a country solely responsible for numerous and deadly terror attacks while staying and using the facilities and protection of said state.

I have seen people openly chant 'Pakistan zindabad Hindustan murdabad' right in front of me and just had to sit in silence and digest it. We who are fucking working our asses of for paying the taxes which directly goes into providing government made facilities which you trecherous snakes are consuming and using only to spit poison back at us.

You are talking about refusing to give houses to Muslims and did you forget your precious Waqf board which illegally extorted hundreds and thousands of acres of land belonging to the indigenous people of a region (mostly always Hindu) without any repercussions or even proper evidentiary documentation. You want us to sympathise with the supposed plight of the Muslims and then you go back to social media and scream about the supposed 'lawlessness' of trying to amend a fundamentally autocratic law which favours your community at the cost of clear and brutal exploitation of the others?

You have concessions and reservations in most state government issued jobs and positions just because you are considered a minority and still you greedy fucking assholes have the audacity to cry about not getting more concessions?

I have found the common writing issue with the fake/pretend dating troupe in SuperBat. Its the same pattern for almost every story in that tag - Clark falling for Bruce, them having sex, Bruce being an emotionally immature repressed idiot, fake breaking up with Clark in the most hurtful way possible, Clark being heartbroken about it and then finally revealing his feelings and convincing Bruce that they should go for the real deal.

It drives me crazy.

Bruce never apologizes, never has to work for it, most of the time never even directly confesses his own feelings. He just kisses Clark back or something. See, I realise that Batman is edgy and repressed as shit and Bruce Wayne is bad at communication, but this is too damned much. No one with even an ounce of self-respect would continue to pursue a man even after that. Give me Superman in the superbat dynamic who isnt a fucking doormat. Ughhh. I just need a fic where their relationship is two-sided, and Bruce puts in a damn effort, at least for once.

See this.. this is the problem. I can not read a love story where one character is constantly being pulled down. If there is an imbalance in power, it is utterly reprehensible to me.

He sighed with frustration; this was why he called the World’s Greatest Detective to solve the crimes he couldn’t punch, investigative journalism isn’t the same as a frankly terrifying level of genius and intuition.

Investigative journalism, my love, is exactly like detection. And Clark and Bruce are both very, very good at their jobs. You didn't have to compare the two. Clark can use his supersenses for investigation at times, and Bruce Wayne has a terrifying level of access due to his wealth and connections that can be useful during the investigation process. They are perfectly equally balanced in this case.

The main reason I love SuperBat is because there is no power imbalance. Batman and Superman are equally matched. As is Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne. Both are powerful, intelligent, compassionate people. Bruce has his own Brucie persona as an act to play, and Clark has his klutzy reporter persona. Bruce has his faults and vices, just like Clark has his imperfections to boot. If one of them is constantly being pulled down to glorify the other person, it just ruins the chemistry. For me, at least.

PS: I am not tagging the fic link coz this is my personal opinion and I dont want to argue with the author.

That she isn't the undisputed expert at warcraft in the league?

See, I love batman just as much as the next person, but I'm seriously getting a little tired of the fandom overpowering him at the expense of every other character. Bats is good at strategy and deduction, I'll give you that. Perhaps one of the best. But I'm sorry, you can not convince me that he is better than Diana at any given day. It's stupid. Forget raw skill and intelligence, the experience itself would defeat him a hundred times over.

Okay, this might be a little rant-ish, but I seriously do not get the appeal of Jaskier. I mean, okay.. he is kinda cute to look at from specific camera angles I suppose, but basically functions as nothing but a comedic sidekick mostly.

And I absolutely found no chemistry between him and Geralt. Like, none. Seriously...what am I missing? I rewatched the show again recently and tried to observe their interactions more still--- nothing. Unlike in the books and the games, Jaskier and Geralt do not even behave like proper friends, forget potential lovers.

They seem to be somewhat like friends or acquaintances based on familiarity. There is no affection, not even a shred of fondness visible in that bond. And no, that almost forced hug in season two, certainly didn't suddenly make them look chummy. It was weird.

Also, Jaskier and Yennefer? I mean..where.. how... what the hell are people interpreting their scenes as?

I just... maybe I am just bitter that they didn't keep Dandelion and showed even a fraction of the actual relationship the latter shared with Geralt in the books, instead of whatever shitshow this was. The Netflix Witcher's portrayal of Jaskier leaves a lot to be desired.

And seriously, that mountain scene isn't so big a deal as the fandom makes it out to be. Yes, Geralt was rude and mean and lashed out on the wrong person. But it wasn't out of character from how he was already shown, and he had never been shown remotely affectionate or given even a minute hint that he liked Jaskier in the first place.

I wouldn't go poke at a snarling wolf if I have two bit sense. It was clear that Geralt was furious/frustrated etc etc and Jaskier kept talking nonsense with such a cavalier attitude that even a cheery person would have lost their temper, forget an established ill tempered grouchy man.

Geralt in the show has always appeared as an unwilling participant of this strange partnership with Jaskier, which the latter has somehow turned into a business arrangement more like. He is always harping for content for his ballads and keeps reminding Geralt that the latter should be grateful for his songs. He doesn't seem to care a whit about him otherwise; meaning that the portrayal is painfully easy to misinterpret.

Also if Jaskier were such a magnificent friend to Geralt or had even a shred of affection for him, he wouldn't immediately turn coat and start screaming 'Burn Butcher burn', even if he was hurt. Even Geralt had only come to rescue Jaskier only when he needed his help which seems on par with their strange relationship.

Its like the most toxic dynamic ever.

Sorry Lauren, giving the bard a grief beard and long hair and a revenge body and making him screech like a male Taylor Swift after a pretend breakup didn't elevate his characterisation or the impact of his estrangement from Geralt one bit. It only served to make him look like a spiteful clown.

So my point actually is, Netflix did Dandelion very very dirty.

Sometimes, I really believe people have zero sense of comprehensibility. I would think certain things are as obvious as plain day.

See what I fail to understand is why does no one get that everyone is entitled to their personal opinion as far as preferences of representation of fictional characters go. I mean, it's a fictitious character. What works for you won't work for someone else. The entire point of adaptation is that every version and edition will have different interpretations based on their creators and their audiences as well.

I wish people just stop with the Superman debate already. I would love to hear about their interpretation of the character and relatability or metas, headcannons etc etc.. but.. so long as they shut up about trying to declare,'my opinion is the universal and absolute truth and should be accepted as a fact'. What utter stupidity!

Fine, you hated Cavill's Superman, okay.. more power to you. You detest David's Superman, you go, man. But seriously, is it so tough to realise that your perception is just your preference that other people might not agree with eitherwise?

Since the day I entered into the DC fandom again, all I have ever seen, heard, and read is how James Gunn is a genius and Zack Snyder, a heretic. Im starting to lose my mind.

I am starting to think the further evolution of humankind will be corrupted by the only thing they are really adept in - hatred.
