You know what, I hate the way modern fandom makes lgbtqia2s+ people feel obligated to only make content about queer/lgbt characters and only headcanon characters as queer/lgbt and if you don't do that, bc you see a character as not queer/etc, regardless of your own identity and your other writings or art and regardless of the quality of your own person, you must be phobic

The idea of being an lgbtqia2s+ person in fandom has been so stripped down by certain groups that you are no longer valid unless you fit a specific box- unless you are a queer/lgbt person who is also making and headcanoning queer/lgbt- and isnt it wild how we already GET the 'you must fit this box or you're outta here' from heteronormative society at large? Check your hypocrisy people PLEASE. So many times there are only thorns in the flower bushes because you brought a truck load of prickly plants over and dumped them in there to say you 'found something' that can scratch your misplaced urge for social justice

if you’re writing a character who smokes/vapes/whatever and you’re also describing them as being near wind (bc that’s very aesthetic, wind, and the whole “smoke billowing out into the wind” and whatever) please be conscious of what direction you’re writing the wind to be flowing bc if you’re having the character like, facing the wind and smoking (something very specific but that I read comparatively often for such a specific scenario) it is going to blow back in their face and they are probably going to choke on it

this tip is brought to you bc: i was hanging out with my friend who vapes (one of several but she’s the one who vapes in public the most often) and she took a Really big hit and then breathed out and Immediately had a coughing fit bc the wind blew it right back out her and idk i just wanted to remind people this is a thing (and also a great tool if you wanna add some comic relief to a heavy scene)
