Twelve Apostles (by KevinWarnecke)
27 January: International Holocaust Remembrance Day
On this day we honour and remember the approximately 22 million innocent souls who fell victims to hate racism and prejudice crimes, nearly 7.5 million of which were slaughtered for being who they were.
6 million Jews (1.5 million of which were children)
1.5 million Romani
270 000 People with disabilities (be it physical or mental)
14 million civilians, caught in the crossfire, famine and ugliness of war from all over Europe.
This day is an important reminder of what once was and what should never be again.
May their rest be more peaceful than their life and may their memory be a blessing.
Never Forget.

Over 1,000 protesters just showed up to the White House to protest the Dakota pipeline
Yet another densely attended protest has gathered in Washington D.C., this time in defiance of President Trump’s recent signing of an executive order to advance the Dakota Access Pipeline.
Construction had previously been stalled under the Obama administration, but President Trump has started to make good on his campaign promises to revive these efforts. Trump previously had a financial stake in Energy Transfer Partners, which is overseeing the construction, but sold it in the weeks after he secured the presidency.
It’s estimated that over 1,000 protesters are demonstrating outside the White House, making it the third protest to take place against Trump in the four days of his presidency.
“Join us tonight as we stand with Indigenous leaders and climate activists,” wrote the protest organizers. “Commit to the fight ahead and show that these pipelines will not be built without a fight.
“Stopping these projects will require action at home, in the halls of power, and in the path of each pipeline. It could be a little while before we know the exact timing of construction. That’s why taking action today is so key — we need to show our opposition now, and get ready for the long haul. “
