I have just had a bad day today and just want to rant. 

so basically everything was all nice and stuff for most of the day. I have early morning classes and get to go  home at 12pm. so I’m in my car trying to leave the school parking lot unfortunately I have to make a left hand turn on a busy street to get out of the parking lot because thats the direction of my house is in and alot of people turn right to go down this street out of the parking lot because most people live on the other side of town and I’m considered to live at the end of the town line. so it takes me alot longer than them to make this left turn because i have to watch both sides of the traffic in order to make the turn. usually I only end up waiting a little while longer but today there was alot more traffic then normal so i must have been waiting for at least 5 or more minutes and I had this big line of cars behind me, so I’m already freaking out because I know I’m pissing people off because I’m taking so long. so this guy two cars behind me gets out of his car, and just starts yelling at me. granted he never got close to my car or anything like that, but to someone who has sever anxiety disorder this gave me a nervous break down. so much so that when I finally made my turn I just cried in the car all the way home and then for another 30 minutes after I got in my house. I was trying my best not to let it ruin my day but then later in my day i walked into a spider web I have a extreme phobia of bugs so that freaked me out hence break down number 2. then just a hour after that happened I found out someone tried to hack my facebook account but I got that fixed and they didnt get into it. basically today has kind of sucked and even tho I try to be as positive as possible that guy had a real effect on my day and I just havent felt like myself since it happened and in fact tomorrow i’m going to take the longer way to get home because he just scared me so bad I dont even want to turn out of that parking lot exist for a while.

My Hall May Be Possessed by Demon Freshmen

You know what sucks? Last night, I was all like, "Hey, I'm at a good stopping point with my homework a little early...I'm going to do the responsible adult thing and use this extra hour to catch up on sleep instead of wasting it on Tumblr!"

Thing is, you might already be aware that I live on a floor of mostly freshmen.

Going to sleep early?

I'm pretty used to it by now. It's just...

They're so loud, you guys. SO. LOUD.

And I know what you're thinking. It's me, the world-weary, jaded Junior who just can't take it that the Freshmen are having a little fun.

But.

It would be one thing if the noises they make were even like, regular human noises. 

Imagine being on the very cusp of sleep and SUDDENLY hearing a cacophonous, orchestra-volume combination of doors slamming, high-pitched shrieking/roaring/whistling/demon sounds, with undertones of distant Beyonce and TV chatter. 

At something like 2:30 in the morning.

And it's not even a constant thing. It's like they stop for ten minute intervals to lull everyone into a false sense that it's safe to fall back to sleep again.

Most of the time, I don't even know what they're doing to produce the noises I'm hearing. 

One could go through their entire life and not ever encounter a situation where it is reasonable and acceptable in society to make those kinds of noises. You would never have a need. 

Meanwhile, the rest of us are losing precious hours of sleep here.

My friend and RA is a student teacher and has to get up at 5:30 most mornings. I honestly have no idea how she does it.

We tell them to please keep it down. It does nothing. We tell them to shut the fuck up, it doesn't work.

We call Public Safety to write them up.

It does nothing. It doesn't work. It never ends. 

I still wake up in the middle of the night convinced someone is being transformed into a hyena/subjected to some kind of laughter torture down the hall.

Said friend-and-RA had a hall meeting about a month ago to desperately try to get a grasp on things. She set up an arrangement with the office of Community Living where if Public Safety had to be called, and they still didn't stop (which is many, many nights) then the offenders would have to pay a 20$ fine for each successive violation.

Here us three juniors are thinking, yes, this will finally make it stop, finally, let it end...

You know what I overheard them saying the other night?

"SHHHHHHHHHHHHH NICKI YOU'RE GONNA GET A FINE!"

"Oh shit! How much is it?"

"Twenty dollars."

"Pshhhh I'll just pay the fine. They can use earphones."

AAAAAAAAAAAAAaaand this is why I'll probably end up with several months' worth of sleep debt.
