I don't know if I've actually talked about this at all on here, but I'm an ASM for my university's play this fall. So I was at rehearsal tonight, wearing my reputation tee, and our director comes up and says "who's that? On your shirt?" I say Taylor and she said she's heard of her, and asked if it really looks like her. I say not exactly since it's a profile. There was a little talk between me and my stage manager and the other ASM, and then the director jumps back in and asks if she's the one who'd just shaved her head. I immediately jumped in with "no", because I would have known if Taylor had done that. I had no idea who she was talking about though. She says something about also being able to see every moment. After a few moments of pondering, someone says that's Katy Perry. And all of us at the table (that's the stage manager and both ASMs) just shook our heads in disgust. It was pretty clear that no one at the table was a big Katy fan or understood that decision. Until that moment, I hadn't even known that Katy had done that. Before anyone could say anything, it was time to get back to work.

That didn't have much of a point, but it was a nice little conversation.

i’m ASMing a musical so i’m at the choreography rehearsal and ya’ll i’m so nervous bc i lowkey don’t know anyone i was at the like introductions meeting and now i’m at rehearsal but our production manager isn’t here so i’m like the only member of the production team here and i wasn’t given a script yet also i don’t take notes on the dance rehearsals anyway i’m just supposed to record so basically up until the end of this rehearsal when they know the dance i’m supposed to record it i’m basically just sitting here and like “help” the director but he doesn’t need any help so the associate producer just told me to do work so i’m on tumblr rn making it look like i’m doing “production” tasks while they are rehearsing bc otherwise i’m just gonna keep awkwardly making eye contact with the dancers bc there’s only 3 cast members in this number so there’s only so many people to look at i think i’m gonna try use the time to stalk the cast on facebook and learn their names because i simply don’t know them at all lmao but the few that are here are very talented!!!! we’re doing sister act and it’s gonna be bomb!!! anyway this is just me passing the time lmk if you want to chat bc the only other thing i have to do rn is like read my environmental textbook and that’s not gonna happen :))
