AU/Fic prompt where SQH and SQQ are at the Northern palace for research when LBH challenges MBJ.

The mushroom bodies are being affected by seasons more than they thought and so SQH gets a transport talisman/artifact and has been using it to let him and SQQ to research certain flora in the northern desert and how they can protect mushroom bodies. It's easier to smuggle SQQ in then the texts out, and so far MBJ hasn't noticed.

(He has noticed he just doesn't mind because he trusts SQH and besides he is his future husband he should feel comfortable here)

So the 2 are there and freaking out when fight starts and SQH doesn't activate talisman because HE'S WORRIED ABOUT HIS KING OK?

And then...the monologuing starts... just like airplane wrote dramatic speeches par for course during fights...and the topic is MBJ attacking his Shizun which leads to LBH monologuing about SQQ and how he is going to prove himself and then marry him.... in process he insults SQH cue MBJ dramatic speech about SQH...

SQQ and SQH are just there blushing and brains/systems blue screening as they hear respective demons brag about them and their virtues and there future plans and are just silently screaming...

There can be no misunderstandings as both demons are being very direct/clear.

Things get awkward when SQQ and SQH are revealed and all 4 are just staring at each other... all internally screaming.

YOU TOO i need to be nosy here too i know precious little about almira but i love her bad. if there's a situation where she got roped in as his plus one to some upscale event (ball, gala, etc...), first of all, how does he convince her? and second, if he succeeds, what's she wearing, what's he wearing?? are they going as a couple, is there drama afoot, is this also an undercover situation or just something for the knights he wanted company for, etc??

if it's a work event, they'd likely both be invited, unless it was some higher-up thing only. if it's espionage, they would. also just go together by default since allie sneaks around and listens to people's conversations anyway lol. in those cases, it doesn't take a lot of convincing- it's just what she's supposed to do as a knight, so it's whatever. different story if it's just a fun event.

despite lohen talking about the event (which is definitely just a date), almira doesn't assume she's the plus one until he outright says she's coming with him. she's doing mental gymnastics to reason out the likelihood that it is a genuine recreational invite and he ends up ordering her to come, because at least she'll listen to that without question. she's still 30% sure it's undercover work, so she's going to be annoying and wearing something 1) event-appropriate, 2) revealing, and 3) impossible to fight in to get back at lohen for not giving her more details. unfortunately for her, lohen was telling the truth and now he gets to ogle at her tits and enjoy watching her low-level paranoia.

impossible for me to think of outfits and not draw them out, so here's the rough idea of what they'd wear (although i was picturing a theatre or opera event instead of a ball towads the end)!! bonus almira drawings from other AUs (i guess i tend to give her bell sleeves if it's fantasy and ruffles if it's victorian era-esque)

they probably have to go on a shopping trip for almira actually, i don't think she owns any gala-worthy clothing since she would have to sell her old clothes before moving to mondstadt and then she was just never invited anywhere fancy
