aroace culture is being fucking tired of seeing all the "Friendship is so cool!!!!1!11!1111!!!" stuff in aromantic and especially aroace places

like do we all just not care for out aplatonic aroacespecs??? are we just choosing to push them aside because we cant imagine how meaningful having family or aquaintances can be to someone??????

tbh i feel like this community is forgetting that aspec includes all types of attraction and not just asexual and aromantic (but i feel its like especially bad with forgetting aplatonics) (shout out to the anaesthetics, afamilials, asensuals, aqueerplatonics, annatractionals, and every single other aspec out there!!! you are super cool!!!!)

im watching 2 different duos of solidarity break up right now (transmascs and transfems, aromantics and asexuals) and its really gross. i dont want to take sides. i dont know why we have to fight.

i understand the human brain. i understand our “us vs. them” mentality is STRONG. but it hurts to see it in action. maybe there’s something wrong with my concept of it, but maybe we should try and fight it.

I have a question if that's okay, is the term loveless for aromantics only? Or is it okay to use as someone who experiences romantic attraction/love but is repulsed by it and wants to reject it? Like is loveless a term to normalise or is it an important word for aros to describe specific experiences?

as far as my understanding goes, the term 'loveless' as an identity is for anyone who doesn't feel 'love'. i use it as an aro because it's important to me to distance myself from the concept of 'love', and i know it's the same for other aros. i do think the term 'loveless' does need to be more widespread, at least for ppl to know about.

there is a seperate term for ppl who feel love and don't like it, which is 'romance repulsed', which isn't strictly an aromantic-spectrum thing. now i'm not the aro police (acab) and i can't tell you you can't use the term 'loveless' for yourself, so i personally (as just some random loveless aro guy) have no room to judge if you'd like to claim the term 'loveless', and i don't think it's a bad thing if you'd feel comfortable with that label. i won't slap labels on other people, i can just tell you how i use/claim my labels

other loveless folks or aromantics, please weigh in if you want to. i know i'm not the expert in lovelessness, but i do want help to give this anon a proper answer if that's something someone has

i feel like "loveless" and "lovequeer" are two sides of the same coin like we both saw how much amatonormativity obsesses over love and the loveless people decided to destroy it and the lovequeer people decided to steal it

So here’s something I feel like every alloallo person has in the back of their minds when it comes to me:

“Why do you support asexuals so much? Aren’t you aroallo? Are you secretly asexual but in denial? Doesn’t asexuality feel uncomfortable to you because you’re aroallo?”

And I want to say that I support them so much because:

a) they deserve it, like every member of the LGBTQ community

b) while the arospec and acespec communities ARE separate, and being aromantic does not automatically equal being asexual, no one can deny that our communities overlap. They overlap a lot. As a gay man as well, I can’t imagine not supporting lesbians. As a trans man, I can’t imagine not supporting trans women. Just because they’re different identities than mine doesn’t mean I won’t feel a connection to them and stand behind them. Our communities overlap, and for that, they’re my siblings in a way.
