I really wish Zuko got to use his fire daggers move more. It seems so uniquely him.

Maybe he looked at his dual broadswords and realized he could utilize the swordsmanship skills within his bending?

Since he does use inspiration from other fighting forms within his bending.

Waterbending inspired moves, for example.

He uses this spin kick move in [S1EP3 The Southern Air Temple] against Zhao during their Agni Kai.

And again in the [The Search, part two] comic.

Kind of reminds me more of airbending than firebending.

I don't recall any other firebenders displaying these moves. I like the detail of Zuko adapting and changing even with his bending. Really nods to his overall character.

And it points to Zuko being a skilled firebender.

If the batfam were ATLA benders I need everyone to understand this

Dick is an Airbender

Bruce is either a nonbender or a earthbender

Jason is a waterbender

Damian is a firebender (Thalia’s blood)

Tim is a firebender

Duke is a waterbender

Stephanie is a earthbender

Cass is NOT a bender

And Babs is a airbender

I can explain the reasoning behind this but just know I’m right okay

I’ve seen this gif around a few times and I just wanted to talk about this whole scene for a bit. For reference, in case it’s unclear from the clip, this is the scene in “Boiling Rock” where Zuko and Sokka are battling Azula on top of the gondola

And it’s HOW they fight that fascinates me

Zuko KNOWS he can’t win against Azula. All his life he’s been the weaker bender, she has out matched him at every turn, every time. But he knows his enemy and he knows his space. They’re fighting on an impossibly cramped space, with Suki and Ty Lee’s battle taking up half of it. If Azula doesn’t want to hit her “friend” or get blown off herself, she has to pull her punches. And that gives Sokka the advantage

Sokka with his sword can get up close to Azula, strike in her ways she may not anticipate. But Sokka’s still not fire proof.

So this scene shows how perfectly the two of them work together. Without words, Zuko blocks Azula’s fire blasts and sends a few off himself. While Auzla dodges Zuko’s blasts and regains her footing, Sokka comes in and strikes with his sword. They dance and dodge for a bit until Azula composes herself at which point Sokka ducks completely back behind Zuko again and the dance restarts

And the thing is? It works, they’re very clearly holding their own against a powerful bender who has beaten the both of them before. But Zuko and Sokka’s ability to work as a team, each using their strengths to their advantage is what helps them keep the stalemate

It’s such a fun scene to watch, and I always love watching these to “ride or die” idiots instantly click and fall into a rhythm like it’s nothing

personally i would like to see more art of aang bending the other elements?? i only ever see airbending art and that 12 y/o child did not master all four elements in a short prd of time under extreme duress and threat of world domination to have them ignored!!!!

Hi welcome to my ted talk. I’m going to give a brief summary of what I think benders look like based on what type of bender they are (or if they are a nonbender, then based on where they grew up in or who their parents are). This is just my opinion, but I would love some other ideas on how you think they look!

Earthbenders:

-Male: more boxed body type. Female: boxed but elegant at the same time.

-Male: slim eyes, but more round than females. Female: slimmer eyes

-Eyes tend to be green or brown

-Slimmer noses

-Brown Hair

Airbender:

-Rounder body type (sorta oval ish) boxier for the guys but way more round than earthbenders.

-Round eyes

-Brown eyes

-Round/slim noses

-Brown or black hair

Waterbenders:

-Oval-like body type

-Round eyes

-Blue Eyes

-Button noses

-Brown Hair

Firebenders:

-Triangular-like body type (shoulders are base of triangle. More agile body shape)

-Thin eyes

-Brown eyes

-Thin noses

-Black hair
