These are some HCs about Savos’ classmates. Since I had almost zero to go on most of these are entirely random. They’re also not meant to make each of them a fully rounded character, but rather to give myself a bit more to work with.
Atmah:
- Teacher's pet on the surface, Savos' co-conspirator below
- Had a huge interest in archaeology
- Moved from Dawnstar to Winterhold and got taken in by Hafnar and later Savos
- Specialized in illusion and a bit of destruction
- Part of Girduin's "Winterhold Writers Association"
- Atmah was a quite eloquent speaker and good at dealing with authority figures
- Talked Savos out of shitty situations way more often than he probably deserved
- Very headstrong
- Would often butt heads with Hafnar, but in a friendly manner
Hafnar:
- Very extroverted
- Pure destruction mage focused on frost magic
- Could pack a punch and claims that's how he got the nickname "ice fist". All his friends knew he actually got it because he had accidentally frozen two of his fingers off.
- Well read
- easy going
- He and Savos were childhood friends*
- Stubborn and quite prideful
- But also very loyal and honest
- The big brother Savos never had
Elvali:
- Grew up in Morrowind and its Great-House-System
- Didn't like politics because of that
- That person who always knows someone who knows someone
- Also part of the "Winterhold Writers Association"
- Great singer
- Earned a bit of extra money by working as a bard in one of Winterhold's taverns (giving the others an excuse to go every now and then)
- Had a dry sense of humour
- Focused on enchanting and some alteration
Takes-In-Light:
- Introverted and rather timid
- The most creative and crafty of them all. Her board and card games saved the group from many boring evenings.
- Focused on equal parts restoration and alteration
- Good listener who could keep a secret
- Had lots of integrity
- Still laughed at Savos' and Atmah's shenanigans though
- Excitable
Girduin:
- The mom friend
- Founder of the "Winterhold Writers Association"
- Had a love for history and all things dark and macabre (Mostly wrote ghost stories)
- Undefeated champion of "How long can you stay in the Midden after dark?"
- Smartass
- Focused on conjuration
- A bit of a stiff
- But surprisingly ride or die for his friends
* I subscribe to the headcanon that until a certain age, mer and men age at the same speed. This is how Hafnar and Savos could have been roughly the same age (I headcanon Hafnar was 2 years older) physically, not just in years.
Toa Atmah, super powerful, psychopathic Toa of Iron, ex-Toa Hagah of Makuta Aerther. Wields a sword of iron. He thicc.
CARON PARIS - ATMAH - La Collection Merveilleuse - Eau de Parfum - Novità 2026 -
If freedom were a fragrance, it would be Atmah. In other words, the elegance of the soul. Caron’s latest creation for La Collection Merveilleuse.
•
Se la libertà fosse un profumo. Sarebbe Atmah. Ovvero l'eleganza dell'anima.
Best College of Winterhold NPC Tournament: Round 1
Atmah vs Arniel Gane
Atmah
Arniel Gane
Atmah was a friend of Savos Aren and one of those who went to Labyrinthian. She's noted to have been the Arch-Mage's favourite, and was the one who came up with the idea of going to Labyrinthian and the group's leader. She died in Morokei's chamber, and Savos enthralled her (as well as Hafnar) to contain the dragon priest. Arniel Gane is an alternation expert, but not the alteration expert; that's Tolfdir. Arniel wants to discover what happened to the Dwemer by recreating whatever led to their disappearance, with somewhat predictable results- it works, and he vanishes. You can then summon "Arniel's Shade" for assistance in combat.
Should I include Savos' friends in the College of Winterhold tournament?
Yes
No
Reasons for Yes: They were all part of the College at the time of their deaths in Labyrinthian. Their spirits are encountered as part of the main College questline.
Reasons for No: They're no longer part of the College, all being dead, and have been for a long time. Their NPCs are not part of the College faction.
