It had been a long time since Oliver had come in contact with Roy. It was more out of guilt than anything else. At first, it had been anger. Oliver had been so immensely disappointed in Roy, the young man he’d seen as a son, and that disappointment had shifted into rage. Now that a significant amount of time had passed, now that Oliver had changed and had a new partner, he felt a great amount of guilt.
Part of Oliver’s change was realizing that he owed Roy an apology. The issue with that? Oliver had no idea where to find his old partner. So, that meant asking around. The first person he asked? Dinah. She’d almost seemed reluctant at first, but he’d managed to convince her of his intentions. So, with a city in mind, Oliver went to find his old partner, patrolling the night for any sign of crime. Wherever one happened, he was sure to find Roy. Oliver may have broken something in the young man, but not his drive to save people.
His patient wait and patrol eventually led him to a store robbery. An easy job to handle, especially from high ground. Ollie removed an arrow from his quiver, feeling the fletching to insure it was the right one. One of the many systems Roy had put into place for him. He nocked the arrow and drew back.
