Mental illness/disability solidarity!!
So a good friend of mine, Lily, has misophonia - extreme aversion to certain sounds, usually relating to the mouth. As part of my ADHD I’m hypersensitive to sounds in general, but especially loud and unexpected ones.
In art class today we were doing clay work and myself and several others had a bit of a cold, and lots of people around us were wedging clay (basically smacking it into a hard surface repeatedly to compact it into a useable block) or using heat guns. So both of us were super on edge but being really considerate of eachother’s disabilities! Like, i was being super careful to not sniffle, and she would always tell be before she was going to make a loud noise. It was just very wholesome and we both greatly appreciated it.
Idek where i was going with this, i just wanted to share ‘cause it made me really happy at the time :)
