"Ragatha has NPD, BPD and autism!" No, she's a trauma survivor, canonically. It has a lot of overlap with these things because child abuse causes NPD and BPD, but even if someone has overlapping symptoms, it doesn't mean an abuse survivor always has a personality disorder. Ragatha regularly expresses empathy and generally seems neurotypical to me. I want other people to know that being abused can cause social difficulty and maladaptive behavior without meeting criteria for a disorder. Even covert narcissists have a superiority complex and empathy deficits, and Ragatha has none of those. She's not manipulative and doesn't want to control people. She has trouble asking for help, but she's always trying to help others. She doesn't seem particularly self-centered. She's lonely and holds herself a lot. People have armchair diagnosed me with stuff I don't have as a neurodivergent person with trauma from parental and peer abuse. It's not harmless when you do it to fictional characters (when you don't know what you're talking about) because it perpetuates misconceptions. I really don't like people looking at me and people like me and seeing a stigmatized personality disorder I don't have. I have things in common with Cluster B people, but I don't meet criteria for any of Cluster B. The thing that unites us is trauma, emotional dysregulation and maladaptive behavior. I don't even think Jax has NPD yet. You can be a dick without having a personality disorder and you can have a personality disorder without being a dick, even NPD and BPD. Sometimes people become hostile over time if they keep getting hurt, and I think that's what his deal actually is. He is a classic case of a bully victim who became a bully. Cain, on the other hand, is very NPD-coded. A lot of NPD folks think he is positive and realistic representation and that's cool. He can't literally have NPD because he's an AI, but the theory that he is deliberately NPD-coded has more legs to stand on.
