In hindsight...

It’s incredibly funny to rewatch A Very StarKid Reunion and see Joey confessing his love for Vanessa, played by Lauren.

I know Lauren is filling in for Ali Gordon in that scene, but you can’t convince me otherwise that someone asked Lauren to do it because the StarKids in the know about Joey and Lauren’s relationship thought it’d be a funny joke.

And why do I suspect Brian Holden?

Everyone forgot that brant cox was not in avps and no one actually taught him the words to days of summer for avsr so if you look closely he's literally just randomly opening and closing his mouth

One of my favourite parts of the Reunion DVD is when Julia talks about helping Rachel with her costume for Twisted, and Rachel just turns to her like 'oh my god, what's the words to the song?'

And Julia says she doesn't know, because she didn't work on Twisted. So Rachel just shrugs, runs out on stage and improvises.

Some of my other favourites include:

Brian's moustache during the whole AVPS scene. Especially when he says 'who looks stupid now, you do' then turns away to stick it back on his face.

The fact that, also during that scene, both Joey and Darren are having a hard time and both failing to keep a straight face.

Brant not knowing the words to Days of Summer.

Rosenthal saying 'you might recognise me as the guy wearing the hat from earlier'

The subtitle under Darren's name in the BTS that says 'How to succeed in business without trying' which is way too funny to me.

An Analysis of the four versions of “Ready to Go”

The OG - Me and My Dick - 2009

Truly a great way to introduce all the characters (before this we’ve only met Joey, Dick, Sally, and Miss Cooter)

What I consider to be the true beginning of the show 

Once you meet Flopsy and The Old Snatch you are a changed person

Good to come back to, but not the best version, 9/10

The Re-Cast - S.P.A.C.E. Tour - 2011

All the parts are the same for everyone on tour who was also in MAMD (Joey, Joe, Jaime, and Brian) with Dylan being re-cast as The Old Snatch, Meredith as Vanessa, and Lauren as Tiffany

Jaime sings both Sally and Miss Cooter’s parts, so no Miss Cooter :(

Joey and Joe basically do the choreography from the show during their part

Meredith using her bongos for something else

Meredith being Vanessa and Brolden being Flopsy... think about it

Brolden and Dylan as Flopsy and The Old Snatch... that is all (also yes that choreography)

Everyone’s little bouncy bit while Brolden and Dylan are singing

Everyone hiding their face expect when they are singing or they are mentioned 

A truly iconic version, 11/10

The Re-Imagined - Apocalyptour - 2012

Combined with “Me and My Dick” (although the word dick is never said) to serve as the opening number

Parts are a little unclear, with all the guys singing different parts of “Me and My Dick” and “Ready To Go” (although Joey is definitely Joey and Joe is definitely Joey’s Dick)

Even though it’s literally in the title of the song, the word “Dick” is not spoken and instead they get interrupted each time before they are about to say it

Jaime is again Sally, with Lauren kind of playing Miss Cooter, although it is more clear in the finale that she is singing this role

PUNS!!

Brosenthal and Dylan singing as Joey/Dick is what I didn’t know I needed (also having Dylan sing Dick’s part here bc “Hey Dick” and “Hey Dyl” are not that far off)

The little details of what they’re doing while others are singing that set us up for the rest of Apocalyptour

No Vanessa/Tiffany or Flopsy/The Old Snatch verse :(

Brosenthal singing with Jaime as Miss Cooter?? (I guess bc Lauren is singing Tiffany’s part)

Yes going back into “Me and My Dick” and introducing everyone at the end that is the cutest thing

The funniest version, 10/10

The Re-Staged - A Very Starkid Reunion - 2015

Going all the way back to the OG, but filling in the casting gaps by changing roles around (Alle-Faye who was Tiffany is now Miss Cooter) and adding members in (Lauren is now Vanessa, even though she was Tiffany on tour) 

Omg Lauren as Vanessa though

Included the iconic line of “Now I’m a boner!!”

Did not do the full song (only Sally/Miss Cooter and Joey/Dick verses) :(

Even though they didn’t sing their verses, Brolden and Dylan still sang Flopsy and The Old Snatch’s part at the end while Lauren and Meredith sang Vanessa and Tiffany’s part

The ensemble at the end is only Starkids who were in the show (Lily, Richard, and Brolden) and those who had done the song on tour (Meredith, Lauren, Dylan, and Brosenthal) 

Similar to the OG, but left something to be desired version, 8/10
