Easy bake bread with cheesy cranberry dip. So good for a weekend brunch in winter. Recipe: 3 cups flour 1/4 tsp yeast 1/2 tsp salt Luke warm water Method: 1. Mix everything together with a wooden spatula till you get a sticky dough. 2. Rest dough for 30 mins then knead by hand by adding flour a little at a time till it comes together. 3. Leave to rest for 1 hour 5. Shape into a round and let it rest on parchment paper in a bowl for another hour. 6. Meanwhile preheat the oven to 450°F. Leave your cast iron pot with the lid on in the oven while it it preheating. 7. Transfer the bread with the parchment paper into the hot cast iron pot carefully. 8. Bake covered for 30 minutes. 9. Then remove the lid and bake again without the lid for another 10 minutes or until nicely browned and crisp. 10. WHOLE GRAIN DOUGH - PROGRESS SHOTS 🍞 Growing up, when my Mom would bake bread, she would get me to knead the dough. That was one of the things I despised doing as a kid. I couldn't stand the feeling of the sticky dough on my hands and stuck between my fingers. Also the tiring feeling of kneading for +5-10mins🙄. 🍞 Baking bread had then become a thing I didn't want to do or think about doing. When C0v!d hit SA in March 2020 and we were still living in an apartment @geoffreyaleonard and I had explored baking bread together, different types of breads and various ways in baking them. We were without a working oven...so we tried the Microwave (it wasn't the best of ways)...we tried different pot breads on the gas stove...meh, I guess it was okay😒 🍞 When we then moved offgrid end 2020, we hit a SWEET spot in our baking method!
