“What exactly are you suggesting?” Fili looked around at the rest of the company. “This is Bilbo we’re talking about. Does anyone here really think that anyone could keep him somewhere he doesn’t want to be?”

“That’s right!” Kili pointed at his brother. “Bilbo kicks ass for breakfast! What’s Thorin gonna do?”

“They’re not as unevenly matched as ye think,” Dwalin replied. “Bilbo’s impressive, aye, but Thorin’s never gone all out with ‘im. Wouldn’t risk hurtin’ him.”

Kili scoffed. “And you think that Bilbo’s ever gone all out with any of us? He slaughtered a whole colony of those giant spiders in Greenwood. Alone! Bilbo’s terrifying!”

There were murmurs of agreement to both points. Their king and burglar were remarkably well matched. It was hard to tell which one would stand victorious if they were to truly clash.

Okay guys I need your help, there was this Bagginshield mafia! AU fic I've read some time ago and I can't find it nor remember the fucking name. So I'll just quickly describe it: Bilbo is a thief and steals the Arkenstone for Smaug, who doesn't pay him/doesn't give him the amount of payment he promised, so Bilbo steals it a second time and gives it back to the Durin fam but gets caught anyway in the process.

So a friend of mine told me about a story she read where Bilbo wasn’t home when Gandalf came to see him (he was on a different adventure) and Gandalf decides to put the mark on his door anyways. So when Bilbo comes home he finds Dwalin there. Obviously he doesn’t put up with it and kicks Dwalin out of his house. So when Balin gets there Dwalin is just hanging out on the lawn not knowing what to do. She can’t remember the title and I really want to read it! Does anyone know of any fics that sound like this? Please and thank you!! (May or may not be complete)

Thorin guarding bilbo while he snacks, not for Bilbo's safety no. For everyone else's safety. A hungry hobbit is a dangerous hobbit and bilbo is no exception to that part of hobbit DNA. Thorins doing you a favor, really. Fili almost lost a finger the last time he came between bilbo and a snack, it was his own fault really. Shouldn't have tried to swipe his sweet bread

Look at him. I mean just LOOk at him. He knows he can't fight, that he couldn't possibly win against azog the defiler. He knew he would probably die and STILL he stood between him and thorin. He was willing to DIE for the dwarf he loved

“Don’t take the precious that way, Precious! We can’t let hims have it,” Gollum snarled into the darkness.

“What is he talking about?” Bilbo wondered.

“I don’t know,” Frodo answered. “But he gets worse the closer we get to the gates.”

“You mean the gates of Mordor,” Bilbo said. “As in the front gates? Like the primary entrance?”

“Yes?” Frodo answered uncertainly.

Bilbo stopped half-way through his wafer. His brain was almost back to processing at full speed. “Why are we heading toward the gate?”

The younger hobbits shared a look. 

“Because we’re going to Mordor,” Frodo answered. “To destroy the rings?”

“Through the bloody front gate?” Bilbo’s brain had officially caught up, and it was mortified. “Whose bloody idea was that?!”

“I promise never to climb another dragon.” Bilbo lifted his hand. “There aren’t any more dragons. . . are there?”

“Not that we know of,” Balin chuckled.

“Oh, good.” Bilbo dropped his hand. “I wasn’t looking forward to doing it again.”

“You just swore you wouldn’t,” Thorin growled.
