Iris had never been the kind of person that would stare at the clock as her shift drew to a close, but this was definitely one of those days; nearly from the moment BT had left, she had been almost glued to the clock on the computer screen next to where she was working. Jessica had noticed her change in behaviour, but she hadn’t made any comment in case it was because she was still shaken from what had happened with the man she’d fought.
What surprised Iris the most was that there were no comments about how BT had called her ‘mine’ when he’d scolded the would-be robber. Truthfully, only Jessica had heard the comment, but she knew for a fact that her coworkers were a gossipy bunch. She wasn’t about to look a gift-horse in the mouth, however, so she gladly stepped back and did her work as she enjoyed the relative peace of the store. There were no other instances that happened; most of those who came in were regulars.
She was really looking forward to not having to hear people say “oh, honey, you’re so pale!” any more that day.
Taking in a deep breath to relax herself as she made her way into the back room of the store, her locker and work bag sitting there waiting for her to end her shift. Pulling off her compression work gloves and dropping them on the top shelf, the pale woman exchanged them for a warmer outdoor pair to cover the back of her hand once more. Her small satchel carried her wallet and her phone, ensuring that she wasn’t lugging around a lot of weight on her way home.
She was always ready to run, and after all these years she was pretty good at it, too.
Pulling her coat on over her sweater, Iris carefully pulled her braid out from her jacket so as not to tug the strands before slinging her bag over one shoulder. She quickly checked the time on her phone before it went in her bag. Iris pulled the zipper of her sweater all the way up to the end, meeting just beneath her chin. It was slightly warmer today, but still a bit nippier than she was accustomed to or preferred. Just cold enough that she made sure to wear her coat.
She could feel her hands shaking, trembling at the realization that she was going to be with yet another of her soulmates. BT was the first to make an outward display of violence while with Iris, and somehow it hadn’t startled her or scared her. Normally, violence would scare her away but when it came to BT it was oddly…reassuring.
Waving to her coworkers as she walked past the aisles and counters, Iris was relieved to be leaving work—for once. Usually, it was when she had to leave for home that made her regret not having another job.
Meeting her soulmates really was changing everything about her life.
Her eyes were drawn to the front window, where she had sat on the bench with BT earlier that day; he was already there. Sitting with his ankles crossed, legs stretched far out in front of him, BT was as relaxed as could be while he was waiting, a few minutes early from the time they had decided on. As though knowing that she was there, he glanced over his shoulder to meet her eyes through the window. Immediately, a smile lit his features as he stood up and turned to face the window fully.
“Have a good evening, Iris!”
“Thank you, Jessica, you as well,” Iris called over her shoulder before she slipped out of the store and into the chill of the evening. BT’s hands slipped into his pockets as he greeted her with a smile.
“How was your shift?” he asked with a cautious grin.
“Just fine; happily boring,” she assured, knowing that he was asking as a way of making sure that nothing else had happened to her after he’d left that morning. “What about you, how was your day?”
“I didn’t do much, definitely distracted after this morning, so I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t have work,” he admitted somewhat shyly, causing her to smile bashfully as her gaze fell to her feet. “So, you have anything planned tonight?” he asked as casually as he could, scuffing his shoes against the concrete as though in nervous habit.
Iris looked up to gauge his expression, noticing that he seemed to be half-dreading, half-anticipating her response. “No, no plans tonight. Why?”
Some of the tension left him, but he didn’t relax entirely. “Wanna go for dinner? My treat.”
Iris’s heart leapt in excitement as her stomach tangled in nervous knots. “I’d love to, BT. But you don’t have to pay-”
“’Ey, no. That’s the only condition—I pay.”
Biting on the inside of her left cheek, Iris already knew that arguing was pointless. “Alright, fine, you pay,” she conceded, shaking her head both at herself and at him. “You pick where we go, then.”
BT’s smile was nearly blinding as he reached down and snatching Iris’s hand, pulling her in close to him as he turned away from the direction of her apartment. The additional change in her everyday routine made her slightly twitchy, an aftershock of discomfort ricocheting in her chest, but then BT squeezed her hand and started to ramble about the restaurants that he knew around town, all the while asking if she had any allergies or foods that she absolutely couldn’t stand.
No allergies and barring only sushi or other raw meats, BT pondered for a moment before he grinned broadly again and snapped the fingers of his free hand excitedly. “I know just the place, and I promise ya, doll, you’re gunna love it!”
She didn’t have time to react before he was tugging more insistently, nearly dragging her down the street. “Whoa, careful! My legs are shorter than yours!”
BT immediately slowed down for her, his strides still long but significantly reduced in speed. “Sorry, doll, just got excited,” he apologized immediately as a bashful smile softened his features. “You are definitely tiny, though. Look at you!”
“Stop,” Iris whined, leaning away when he used his free hand to hover over her head, demonstrating the limit of her height. “You guys are the worst; what’s so wrong with being short?”
His teasing expression softened at her words, tugging her into his side again as he smiled reassuringly. “There’s nothing wrong, doll. In fact, you’re absolutely perfect in my opinion—just the right height for us to tuck you in real close.” To demonstrate, he shifted so that his arm was wrapped over her shoulder and he was able to pull her in tight against his side. Iris’s tiny stature had her with her head barely over his shoulder, so her body really did slot perfectly against his.
Her cheeks heated at the close contact, ducking her head while leaning into him ever so slightly. “Well, I’m way past the age for getting a growth spurt, so you’re stuck with me like this.”
BT smiled down at her before he swooped down and pressed a kiss against the crown of her head, much the same as he had done before he left that morning. “Don’t you worry—you won’t hear any of us complain about that.”
“Good to know,” she mumbled, momentarily shocked at having received two affectionate kisses from him.
She glanced along the street at the other people that were walking around, none of which were paying attention to the two of them. It shocked her, since she had always assumed that people were staring at her—judging her silently, even if they couldn’t actually see any of her marks. Taking a calming breath, she forced herself to focus on BT’s presence to her side.
“So, do I get any hints about where we’re going?” she asked after a brief pause between them, remaining close to BT.
Shaking his head, BT refused to give even the slightest hint and instead declared that it was going to be a total surprise. Looking down at her slightly flushed complexion, the tiny smile that turned up the corner of her lips, even the whiskey eyes that were directed bashfully forward, BT was certain that he could spend the rest of his time in the light just looking at her. Taking her in. It made him wonder if this was how Barry felt when it came to his art, and the urge he had to draw things.
What he would give to be able to engrain her in his mind forward; to do so with every moment he had with her.
None of them had really known what to expect when it came to meeting their soulmate. They’d heard from others about their experiences, and each of them had taken the time to look on the internet at people’s stories from their lives with a soulmate, dating back to their first encounter. However, they knew that it would be different for them. All sharing one body, and one soulmate, was bound to make it interesting.
BT had been concerned when Barry took the helm; he spent most of the time in the light, and therefore the rest of the alters were worried that he would spend all the time he wanted with their future soulmate. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case, but it was still a worry none the less.
He was going to be in trouble with Barry later, that was for certain. He’d told them to just let things fall as they may and not to force a meeting with Iris. However, it was just too good of an opportunity to pass up! To think that she was just down the street, so close to him but just out of reach all because Barry said so. No, he wasn’t going to just sit by and miss this opportunity for himself.
And he was so, so glad that he had gone against Barry’s orders. The rage that had gripped him when he’d seen the true and authentic fear on Iris’s face, her soft coloured eyes narrowed and scared as she was faced with a man much larger than her, had been enough to cause his muscles to shake with tension. He’d come in just in time to see the smack he received to the back of his hand, reminding BT about what Luke had told him regarding her surprisingly fast reflexes, and the faintest bit of pride welled in his chest.
She was a tiny thing and it was clear that intimidation had some effect on her, but she hadn’t let that stop her. Lashing out as she had proved that, although her backbone looked frail, it was sturdy.
Holding her just a little bit closer, Iris glanced up at him curiously. He made sure that he wasn’t glaring or showing any of the anger from remembering that morning, and instead beamed down at her with one of his best smiles before he pressed another kiss against her hair. “Almost there. You tired from work?”
“Yea, it was a long day. Having that man come in this morning set me on edge, too. I was tense all day,” she admitted quietly, nearly bowing her head down in embarrassment. “And I was excited to see you again.”
“Aw, doll, I’m touched,” BT teased gently, placing his free hand over his heart in a mock-swoon. “But if we’re confessing an all, you’ve been on my mind all day.” Her pale cheeks were immediately dusted with another blush, to which BT silently celebrated. He loved it when her cheeks went rosy, it made her look livelier, but at the same time similar to a china doll. “And it wasn’t just ‘cause I was worried about you. I’ve been hoping all day that you’d say yes to dinner.”
“Well, no more worrying,” she answered softly, giving him one of the brighter smiles he’d seen from her thus far.
“And on that note,” he stated suddenly, slowing his stride as they approached a street corner. “We’re here.”
Iris looked up toward the sign that wrapped around the corner. New York, New York. It was a pizza place, considered to have the best pizza from New York. “I’ve heard of this place,” she started happily, thankful that it was just a simple place and not something overly fancy. People in restaurants with big open rooms almost made her feel uncomfortable and exposed. A pizzeria she could do. “Never been here, though.”
“Well, prepare to be absolutely amazed,” BT assured, stepping forward to grab the door for her. Iris smiled and nodded her thanks as she stepped inside, immediately overwhelmed with the smell of cheese, tomatoes and fresh dough. BT stepped in behind her, returning his arm over her shoulders as though in protective gesture.
An older man, who Iris strongly assumed was Italian, beamed at them from the counter. “Welcome! What can I get for you two?” Yep, definitely Italian.
BT grinned back before he turned his attention down to Iris. “What do you say, separate slices or we go all the way and get a deep dish?”
Iris offered back a mirroring grin, though much more subdued than BT’s. “Deep dish,” she answered confidently.
“Pepperoni?”
“Can’t go wrong with that,” she answered immediately.
BT was already pulling out his wallet from the back pocket of his jeans. “I’ll order, you go grab a table.” Iris knew that trying to argue about who was going to pay was useless, so she simply nodded and moved over to a free booth near the door to the kitchen. The smells coming from inside drew her in, wrapping her in comfort. She’d never really been one to eat out, so when it came to getting pizza or another greasy, in-no-way good for you food, she always found it to be a comfort.
Sliding into the booth, Iris looked over when she heard BT’s booming laugh. He was joking with the older man behind the counter as he waited for his change. The bright smile on his face was contagious and Iris soon felt her own lips curving upward at the sight. BT glanced over at her in that instant, the soft blue of his eyes meeting her whiskey ones before he grin grew even more when he caught her watching him with a smile.
Immediately bashful, Iris’s eyes lowered to the hands she had folded in her lap as her cheeks warmed with yet another blush. Her heartrate increased as she looked down at the back of her hand, the mark covered by her spring gloves. Suddenly, the sight of the mark covered up didn’t sit as well with her. BT showed off all of his marks with pride, even if he was going to receive looks of ridicule from people that he passed on the street.
Swallowing thickly, Iris eased the glove off her hand and moved to tuck them into her simple bag alongside her phone. The pizzeria was warm enough that she’d overheat from wearing them anyway. BT slid into the booth across from her in that moment, the smile never having left his face.
“So, what did you do today? If you don’t mind me asking,” she added on quickly, not sure if she was overstepping her bounds.
BT just laughed it off. “Ask me anything you want, I won’t mind,” he assured, “and I was at the gym for most of the day. I like to exercise, probably a bit more than I should but…everyone’s got their thing.”
Iris smiled in assurance as she remembered her discussion with Barry; his thing was art. “I understand completely,” she assured. “I love music. I’ve always used it when I needed to calm down or if I needed help focusing on something. It…centers me.”
BT leaned forward in interest, lacing his fingers together on the table as he leaned on his elbows. “Yea? Like, you play instruments?”
“Some,” she answered bashfully, nervously tracing her finger over the mark on the back of the hand, hidden beneath the table so no one could see. “I only took some lessons for things, so I’m mostly self-taught. Most of the lessons I took were singing lessons, actually.” His eyebrows immediately went up in surprise, though thoroughly interested, and Iris couldn’t help but to feel some pride at the expression of wonder that soon fell over his features.
“You know you’re gunna have to sing for me now, right? You can’t just say that and not let me hear.”
Iris covered her face in embarrassment. “Oh god, no. I’ve never sung in front of someone,” she admitted, her words muffled against her hands. BT’s eyes flicked briefly to the black mark on her hand but the writing too small for him to make out. Reaching out, he took a gentle hold of her hands and drew them away from her face to show the reddened, flushed skin beneath.
“Relax, doll, there’s no pressure,” he promised calmly, gifting her with a more subdued, true smile. “I’d love to hear it, believe me, but only when you really want to.”
In the past, Iris was accustomed to people reacting in much more demanding ways. They’d see her fiddling with piano keys and immediately demand that she play something, or she’d be singing under her breath when she thought no one was around at work and they’d ask her to sing something. With BT, to know that he was patient enough to wait for her to be confident in her own talents, it warmed her heart.
“Thank you,” she whispered, meeting his eyes shyly.
BT just smiled in return and lifted her hands to press a kiss against her knuckles in comfort. “So, what lessons, aside from singing, did you take?”
They fell into comfortable conversation as they waited for their pizza, Iris telling him about the brief lessons she had taken for piano, guitar and violin, all by an older woman who’d retired and wanted to share her love of music. When she’d realized that Iris had a natural talent for music, she’d given her a discount on lessons and had proceeded to teach her the beginner lessons and some more advanced ones. Unfortunately, she’d gotten sick after two years and her family moved her out of state to a home that was closer to them.
She was probably one of the closer things Iris had ever experienced similar to family affection. She’d known about Iris’s marks, at least the few that she could see, and had never judged her. “I’ve lived through too much to start judging other people,” she’d told her. “I’m met a few soulmate groups over the years and they were always the happiest people out there.”
Knowing that other people with multiple marks had made happy lives for themselves had given Iris hope, some of the fear that lingered with the ‘what if’ thoughts dissipating.
And now that she’d met some of them, each as charming and kind as the last, Iris finally felt that she could live in peace with her marks.
After a rough encounter with DeVoe, the team was gathered in the cortex thinking of ways to defeat him before he hurts someone else. After everyone ran out of ideas they decided to try again tomorrow after they regained some energy. As everyone was leaving Harrison called out for Barry.
“Barry, could I talk to you for a minute?” Harrison asked him. As Barry turned around he gave Y/N a nod to wait for him outside. Y/N walked out of the cortex and waited for him in the hallway.
“Sure. Everything okay?” Barry asked Harrison.
“Yes, ye- no. Actually no. With everything going on with Devoe i’m just worried about Y/N. You know how distraught we were when Zoom took Jesse and I couldn’t bare having the same thing happen with Y/N.” Harrison said.
“Hey, you don’t have to worry about that, Y/N is safe and nothing will happen to her.” Barry said trying to calm him down.
“But you don’t know that! I need you to promise me Barry, if there is any way to protect Y/N I will take the risk, whether I die or not, I need her safe. I need you to promise me to not stop me and to make sure Y/N never finds out I sacrificed myself for her.” Harrison said.
“Hey, Harrison don’t think like that. I won’t let you do that. I can’t let the woman I love lose her father to DeVoe.” As soon as Barry said that he knew he had ruined things.
Harrison turned to Barry with a glare, “The woman you love?!” He shouted at Barry.
Barry started taking steps back as soon as Harrison stood up in his seat
“Well you see . . . Y/N and I are dating. An-” Barry started but was interrupted by Harrison.
“Dating?! What did I tell you the first time you met Y/N?” Harrison shouted as he took steps forward Barry.
“That you would send me so far into the multiverse that no one would ever find me.” Barry gulped.
Right before Harrison reached Barry, Y/N entered the cortex and yelled, “Run, Barry. RUN!”
As soon as she said that the pair was gone in a flash, where they left Harrison to freak out by himself.

Pairing: Barry Allen/The flash x reader
Description: Batman’s daughter walks in the batcave while Barry’s running around, which may or may not lead to an accident or two.
Warnings: Swearing???
So I saw the movie a few days ago and there are a few parts I don’t remember so clearly, so if I get anything wrong I’ll fix it as soon as possible. Thanks! (Also this is trash but maybe you’ll like it idk???)
Barry was extremely excited to know that Batman wanted him to be apart of his team to defeat Steppenwolf, or whatever his name was. He could barely contain any of that excitement at all. He knew he should have been listening to what the others’ were saying, but exploring the batcave was way more important at the moment.
“Hey, kid,” Bruce said. “Watch where you’re going. If you break anything, I’m suing your ass.”
“Be nice, he’s just excited. You’re rich, anyways,” Diana said, walking up to Bruce.
“That’s very true.”
Everyone was sitting down (except for Barry, obviously) when you came in.
“Hey, dad,” you said, walking through the door. “I was wondering if-”
It happened so fast it was almost like you couldn’t have felt the impact. Someone ran into you, at an abnormally fast speed.
You tumbled backwards and almost slammed into the wall behind you before someone grabbed your arm and pulled you into them.
“I am so, so sorry. I didn’t see you walk in and I wasn’t paying attention and-”
You blinked and looked up into dark brown eyes. “No, it’s okay. That was my fault.”
“No, that was mine. Are you okay? Did I hurt you at all? Please don’t tell me anything is broken.”
“No, yeah. I’m fine.” You slowly blinked again, feeling a little dizzy.
“Hey, kid. Get your hand off my daughter,” Bruce said, walking over with everyone else.
“What? Oh, yeah. Sorry,” Barry mumbled, letting go of your arm.
Diana cleared her throat. You turned your head to look at her.
“Diana?”
“Hello, Y/N.”
You walked forward and opened you arms, enveloping her in a hug. “It’s so good to see you.”
“It’s lovely to see you as well.”
A wave of dizziness ran over you and you leaned into Diana. “Are you alright?” She asked, putting a hand on your forehead to make sure you weren’t sick.
You nodded, closing your eyes and leaning into Diana more.
Bruce looked at you and then at Barry. “Kid, I swear to God if you gave her a concussion or anything-”
“Bruce,” Diana acknowledged. “It was an accident. Y/N, dear, can you look at me?”
You opened your eyes and looked in Diana’s brown ones. She noticed one pupil was slightly larger than the other, and how you kept blinking very slowly.
“She definitely has a concussion. We need to get her to the hospital.”
“I-I’ll do it,” Barry mumbled, looking at you.
“What? Oh, no. You’re the one that gave her the-”
“Bruce!” Diana scolded. “Be quiet. Barry, that would be wonderful. The nearest hospital is a few blocks away, I think.”
“Diana, I’m not letting the kid-”
“If we wait any longer it could be worse than a concussion, Bruce. This is the fastest way.” Diana looped an arm under your legs and picked you up, walking over to Barry. You were basically passed out at this point. She put her arms out and Barry put one arm on your back and looped the other one under your legs, just like Diana did. “Call us when you get there.”
He nodded and ran off, almost running into the door on the way out.
“Well, that was interesting,” Arthur said, walking away from the group.
-----
Barry found the hospital in about three seconds.
He rushed you in (at a “normal” pace, of course), and had you at the front desk as soon as possible.
“Can I have her name, please?” The lady at the front desk asked.
“Uh, Y/N. I think.” She looked at Barry suspiciously before putting the name into the computer.
“Right. So, what happened?”
“Well, I think she has a concussion. I don’t really know what happened, but she was kind of passed out and then it seemed-” Barry lied and rambled on and on and on.
“Okay, slow down. You said she may have a concussion?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, that’s all. Please take her back there,” she pointed to a door. “Room 137. The doctors will take care of her from there.”
“Okay, thank you.” He rushed to the back room and gave you to one of the doctors. Right after, they pushed him out of the room. He pulled out his phone and called Diana.
“Hello?” She answered, not knowing the number.
“Hey Diana, it’s Barry. I’m in the hospital.”
“Oh, that’s good. Is Y/N okay?” She asked.
“I don’t really know yet. I think she’ll be okay, I’m not allowed in the room so I can’t tell.”
“Okay, well, make sure-” The connection started acting weird until Barry heard another voice.
“Kid, I swear if this ever happens again I’m going to-
“BRUCE!” Barry hung up the phone and sat down in a chair, looking up at the ceiling. He felt so bad for running into you, and he knew it was his fault. He didn’t even know you, he only knew you were Bruce’s daughter. He probably ruined all chances at talking to you, too. He thought you were really pretty, and he knew you were probably the only pretty girl he might ever get to talk to.
He was so lost in thought he didn’t hear the nurse open the door. “Mr. Allen, she’s awake if you’d like to see her.” He nodded and stood up, walking into the room.
You were sitting up on the hospital bed, holding an ice pack to your head. You had a TV remote in your hand and you were looking through all the channels. When Barry walked in, you looked over at him and smiled.
“Hi.”
“Hey,” he said, shifting on his feet awkwardly.
“You know, there’s no reason to be nervous. I don’t bite.” You turned your attention back to the TV, scrolling through the channels again. Barry watched the TV go through channels until it finally stopped at one. Supernatural. You threw the remote to the end of the bed and crossed your legs.
Barry slowly walked over to you and sat on the chair next to your bed. He looked at you while your eyes were focused on the TV. You really were pretty. He didn’t get to get a good look at you until now.
You looked over at him and smiled. “So, you’re the reason I’m here from what I’m guessing.”
“Yeah...sorry about that.”
You giggled and looked back at the TV. “It’s nothing really. I’m a Wayne, I can handle it. Plus, you got me out of school for a week or two.” You looked back a him and leaned back on the bed. “You know, we never go to properly introduce ourselves. I’m Y/N.” You swung your feet across the bed and stuck your hand out.
“Hi Barry, I’m Y/N,” he said. “Wait, no, that’s not right.”
You giggled and stood up. “Nice to meet you, Barry. Thank you, too, for bringing me here and everything.”
“I mean, it wasn’t really anything but, no problem.” He stood up next to you.
You leaned over and kissed his cheek, grabbing his hand. “Come on. We have to get home before my dad kills me. Or maybe you. I don’t really know at this point.”
Barry smiled to himself, picking you up and running out the door. Maybe he’ll have a chance with you after all.

“Body was found by that bicyclist” Joe turned to the guy then back to the corpse, “Same M.O. as the first one. The victim was performing here last night. He’s a lounge singer named Julio Mendez”
“Julio Mendez?” Barry inquired, “In Flashpoint he was Captain Mendez”
“Flashpoint?” I cut in, “Like your parents, Flashpoint? Ramon Industries, Flashpoint?” I paused, “You and me, Flashpoint?” I raised an eyebrow at Barry.
His expression changed as he seemed to remember the time he spent in the alternate timeline. It went from a sheepish look, to one of realization, to one of embarrassment. Barry turned a bright red, and I couldn’t help but wonder why. He swallowed hard before coughing.
“Yeah,” he averted my eyes, “that Flashpoint”
“So, in Flashpoint, this alternate timeline that you lived in, he worked at the CCPD?” Asked Julian, trying to get rid of the awkward situation I’d just created.
“Yeah,” Barry answered him, he thought before speaking again, “Wait a second, the other the other vic, Stuart Holzman do we have a photo of him?”
“Yeah”
“Can I see it?” Barry asked eagerly.
“Yeah, hold on” Julian said as he took out a his phone to show Barry a photo.
“That’s him” Barry said, his face finally turning back to its normal shade.
“What is it?”
“He was a cop there, too”
“Damn, cops gettin’ hate” I added.
“So this is the second dead cop from Flashpoint?”
“Yeah”
“We got to figure out who this guy is” Joe obviously stated.
“Well, if we hurry, there’s still a chance we can get some of the attacker’s residual DNA before this corpse disintegrates, but we’ve got to move quick” Julian said.
“What are you waiting for, Allen?” I turned and teasingly raised an eyebrow at Barry.
“All right,” he smiled back at me, “come on” he said to Julian.
There was a whoosh and lightning trail. Before I knew it he was back and had dropped off Julian at S.T.A.R. Labs.
“Did anybody see me?” Asked Barry.
“Damn, I barely saw you” Said Joe.
“I will never get used to that” I said.
“Look, we got to get going” Joe told Barry, completely excluding me.
“Where you guys heading?”
I tried asking nonchalantly, but couldn’t help sound a bit jealous. Obviously, I was new here and wouldn’t be included in every hang out or get together they had, but that didn’t mean I had to be okay with it.
I mean, Joe’s a great guy. Everyone here is. The thing is, they’re great together. They’re a family. They know each other. They’ve all been through so much. I’m the outsider here, and I’m making my way in one way or another.
“We’re meeting up with Cecile and her daughter for lunch” Joe quickly told me and I frowned.
“Cecile?” I thought for a second, “Work Cecile?”
“Uh, yeah–” Joe started, but Barry cut him off.
“They’ve got this thing going,” Barry explained to me, “And we’re meeting her daughter for the first time”
“Oh,” I realized, “Oh! Wow, okay–um–well, good luck I guess. You guys will be fine. Just gotta let your true selves shine for who you are. Um–I guess I’ll see you guys later then” I smiled politely at them.
“Did you want to do something?” Barry quickly asked me, “Because I can skip th–”
“No! No, that’s okay” I told him, “I was just going to go check out one of the apartments–”
“Apartments?” Joe asked me.
“Yeah, I’m finding a place to stay at. It’s just that I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to get around the city easily. I’ve literally been here a few weeks–but I think I’ll be fine! You guys have your lunch thing” I tried to not show my disappointment, but Barry saw through me.
“I can meet Cecile’s daughter another time. I’ll help you get around town, let me just–”
“You are not skipping this lunch, Barry” Joe firmly told him, “(Y/n) just said they’d be fine, so let’s get going”
Joe motioned for Barry to follow him and started walking off. Barry gave me an apologetic look before shrugging. I gave him a soft smile and a wave.
“Jitters later?” He said, walking backwards.
“Jitters” I nodded.
I watched as he jogged over to Joe. I watched them visibly arguing, even from where I was at. I watched as they bickered about the lunch, or possibly me. I watched as they not-so sneakily turned around to look at me. I watched as they waved at me when they noticed I saw them. I watched as they walked off and disappeared behind a corner.
I watched as they left me alone.
“Of course not, Cisco!”
I walked down the streets of Central City while talking to Cisco on my phone through my earbuds. Which, Cisco had made and designed both items himself. He installed a bunch of apps on the phone including a Meta Human app that could notify me of an attack.
The phone had been waiting for me when I first woke up. Apparently, Cisco had a feeling I’d be needing a new one and just decided to make me one. I was grateful, but confused as to why he had made me one.
My phone was in my pocket as I spoke through the mic in my earbuds.
“What? Why not?” Cisco asked on the other line, “It has an amazing view and was at a good price”
“Exactly, it was at a good price,” I told him, “until that douche bag found out I was loaded with money and raised the price on me”
“But,” Cisco asked carefully, “are you loaded?”
A lot can happen in two years apparently.
“I–” I sighed, “I-I have s-some money in a bank that wa-as stored for me back when … ” I rubbed my temple as I walked, “Yes, okay? I’ve kind of been doing my own thing with the whole money situation–
”–a-and I may have parted some money aside back when,“ I dropped my voice, "back when Oliver was running the company,” I groaned, “Of course I took some money, I knew he wouldn’t be able to handle it, so, yes! I am, kind of, loaded. Jesus, I’m such a bad person” I looked up at the sky as I continued to walk restlessly.
“Girl,” Cisco started his pep talk, “You were doing what you thought was right at the time. You’re not your family and that was your money, too. You were being cautious and prepared”
“But–”
“No but’s. Your family did the best they could and it’s up to them to decide how that goes for them. Now, you have that money for yourself so you can spend it on a nice apartment. Eat a good meal, settle down until you get your life back in check.
"It can’t be that much money, right? I mean, what do you have? A couple thousand dollars?”
“More like 6,” I swallowed hard.
“Thousand? That’s nothing. Maybe you should’ve taken more–” Cisco tried joking around.
“Million” I winced as I closed my eyes.
“ … (Y/n)” Cisco said on the other line.
“It’s not like Oliver would’ve realized I took anything! Like I said, he did stupid things with his money back then!” I defended myself.
“You are so buying me pizza this week” he told me and I gave a weak laugh.
“Shut up,” I shook my head.
“I just don’t understand, you liked the place, why didn’t you just buy it?” Cisco asked me in confusion as he referred back to the apartment I was checking out earlier.
“I wasn’t going to give the guy selling the satisfaction of winning me over,” I rolled my eyes, “Besides, I have a tendency to buy ridiculous things–er–that’s what my mother used to say anyways” I scratched he back of me neck.
“Dude, video games are not ridiculous–they are amazing” Cisco told me and I laughed.
“As great as they can be, I still haven’t found a place that I really like” I sighed, “Also, I think I’m lost”
“Keep walking, another 2 blocks, and you’ll find Jitters on your right” Cisco informed me.
“Really? Thank–” I stopped myself and stood in place for a second, I opened my mouth to speak, but quickly closed it. I looked around with a frown on my face, “Cisco–”
“I may or may not have put a tracker on your phone” Cisco’s voice went up a pitch.
“Dude,” I held my hands out in exaggeration and shrugged my shoulders, “don’t put a tracker in my phone without my permission”
“It was just for precautions” Cisco told me.
“Great,” I started walking again, hopefully towards Jitters, “I don’t think I’ll ever find a place”
Cisco was quiet on the other end. As I walked, I felt my phone vibrate. I took my phone out and saw it was a message from an unknown number.
’Yo u think I could help me out later ?’
I frowned at the number.
“Hey, you know, if you don’t want to go through the trouble of looking at more apartments, you could just stay with me for a while?”
I was taken back by the two suggestions. I was quiet for a moment.
“I mean–only if you want to,” Cisco quickly added, “It’s just that, being here, waking up, missing everything–it just all seems like so much and I thought maybe–”
“I’d love to stay with you, Cisco” I quickly said, “I’ll pay rent and I’ll buy you pizza and video games and” I smiled, “thank you”
My phone vibrated again with another message.
’This is Wally btw lol Cisco gave me ur #
Just wanted advice on speedster stuff
thought maybe u could help idk’
I hummed at the message.
“Great,” Cisco’s voice was enthusiastic, “I guess I’ll take that pizza tonight. Dinner is on you”
I could practically hear the smile on his face. I laughed at that and we said our goodbyes. As I hung up, I went to respond to Wally’s messages.
’boiii
Ur supposed to be having lunch with Cecile and her daughter stop texting me !!
also y me ?¿’
I sent the messages and took the earbuds out of my ears. I held the middle of the two earbud cords and swung the tips around as I continued walking. I could see Jitters in the distance. I silently thanked Cisco for putting a tracker in my phone.
I checked my phone again to see if I had gotten any new messages. Wally must type slow, huh, that’s ironic. While I was at it I went ahead and added Wally as a new contact. I started looking through my phone for things to keep my distracted while I walked. Then, I got a message.
’Idk i mean after all u did get struck by lightning, too
Barry’s also telling me to pay attention to our lunch ugh u guys r the most annoying parents ttyl’
I chuckled at him comparing us to his parents. However, I was confused as to why he would do such a thing. I mean, his sister was dating Barry, wasn’t she? I didn’t bother responding, but I couldn’t stop staring at that first message.
He was right. I was struck by lightning, too. Did that make me a speedster? Does it take a while for the powers to accumulate? Since I was in a coma for longer–does that mean I don’t get my powers early on? Or at all? Am I overthinking this? Am I not thinking enough?
Questions raced through my head as I thought of the possibilities. What was to become of all this? My pace picked up as did my thoughts. I put my earbuds away and started fiddling with my hands to distract myself. I sighed, trying to relax myself, but only became more frantic.
As I approached Jitters, I wondered if coffee was the best thing for me right now. However, I didn’t have much time to wonder. People starting coming out of the cafe in a frantic manner. I sped my way towards a woman of my age. Joe and the others could still be in there.
“Excuse me!” I called out to her.
She turned to face me with a sour look on her face.
“Hi, I’m sorry to disturb, but what’s going on?” I said, my voice shaking.
“There’s a metahuman in there, you should probably run” she told me, starting to frantically run again.
“Oh! Wait! No, I’m actually–” I tried yelling and catching up to her.
“You’re actually helpless in the situation,” she said, cutting me off, “Unless you’re the Flash or Kid Flash, I suggest you run like everyone else” She then quickly ran off.
I watched as she ran off, as everyone ran off. I instinctively reached for my phone to call for help–Oliver, Felicity, Thea–anyone. I stopped myself when I realized I couldn’t call them. A wave of anxiety washed over me again. I had to do this on my own. I couldn’t fall into old habits.
I tried calming my breathing as I carefully walked up to Jitters’ entrance. I stayed by the wall, creeping my way up. If there was a metahuman attack, I’d have to be extra careful. I slowly peered over the glass doors. I saw a man in dark clothing speaking to a group of others on the second floor. On closer inspection, I realized it was Barry and everyone else.
As the man, assumingely the meta, approached the others, Joe pointed his gun at the man. My eyes widened and I took my gun out as I quietly walked in. As I did so, Joe shot at the man.
Three bullets moved through the air in what seemed like slow motion. The three bullets disintegrated as they touched the man, and the remains fell to the ground. I stared in shock at the way the world seemed to move slowly around me.
However, the feeling quickly went away as the man spoke.
“Told ya,” the man said, reaching for a pillar holding up the floor everyone else was on.
“Freeze” I spoke, pointing my gun at the man.
The man stopped and slowly turned to look at me. He took me in, stared me down. He looked at my shaking hands and raised an eyebrow at me. I quickly glanced at Barry, giving him a signal to get everyone else out. Barry just shook my head at me, his eyes full of worry and panic. I looked back at the man and stood my ground.
“They didn’t work when he did it,” The man gestured with his head to Joe, “Why should they work when you do it?”
“Because I’m not going to shoot” I calmly said and the man frowned.
I heard a swoosh and I felt a gush of wind.
Oh, thank god, I thought.
I didn’t move my gun, but I noticed Barry was still up with everyone else and that Wally wasn’t.
“Stop,” Wally told the man, walking towards him. My eyes flickered between both of them.
“Ah, ah, ah!” The man snickered, “You can’t touch me speedster”
I noticed Wally and Barry look at each other, Barry signaling hand movements. Wally stopped and turned to me, I shrugged my shoulders. Wally rolled his eyes and gestured for me to leave. I frowned and shook my head. He gave me a desperate look and I started giving in. I backed up, not completely leaving, but out of the way.
Wally turned back to the man and started waving his hands around, I watched as, again, everything moved in slow motion. Wally created air funnels and the amount of wind caused the man to fall back and crash through the back glass door.
I saw Wally normally run out of the room, while everything else still moved in slow motion. I felt myself shaking, a lot more than usual. Everything returned to its normal speed, and Barry came running towards me. His eyes were wide as he approached me.
I looked down as I saw my hands moving in an inhuman speed. I dropped my gun in surprise. I felt myself start to freak out. I felt Barry grab my hands and keep them from vibrating. I looked up at him in shock.
“I was struck by lightning, too,” was the only thing I managed to say.
“(Y/n), listen to me, we need to get you out of here” Barry began guiding me out of Jitters.
“Barry? Queen!” Cecile called out as she saw us rush out.
Barry didn’t mind her as he opened the door for me. He quickly took me to an empty alley. My whole arms were shaking now, too. The rest of the world decelerated and I felt electricity run through my body. Barry seemed to be the only thing that was moving with me.
“Barry, what–what do I do?” I looked at him with bewildered eyes.
“We need to get you to S.T.A.R. Labs” he told me as I felt my whole body vibrate.
“I can’t” I shook my head.
As I did so, Barry slowed down. He stood there, slowly taking me in. I felt myself worry again. I was alone. Not even Barry could keep up with me. My legs were starting to shake harder and I needed to move.
Calm down, I told myself, you’re okay–you’re okay–what would Barry do?
I tried calming down my breathing. Concentrating on slowing down. When I did, I managed to understand what Barry was saying.
“Run, (Y/n),” his voice echoed through my head, “run”
Requests: “Could I request a Barry Allen Valentines day fic, please? :) Maybe Barry is trying to make a really romantic/special day for reader and work keeps getting in the way each time they get together? Love you and your fabulous writing. 😘” (Credits to gif owners!)
Try 1: The whole point in Barry bringing you to a Valentine's dinner a week early was because he wasn't sure if something would come up on Valentine's Day itself. It was a mutual decision to go out a week early and just spend time together. So the first try at a date was when Barry was going to bring you to dinner and then a movie.
But he called and explained he couldn't because there was a bank robbery and he needed to be there. You understood, you weren't so disappointed. It was something you were both mentally prepared for so there was no big deal.
So you shrugged off your nice dress and dressed in your pajamas while watching T.V. until you fell asleep. Barry showed up at your house later looking upset as ever and regretting choosing the bank robbery over you. So you explained he couldn't help it and it's his duty as The Flash to help people. For the rest of the night Barry held you close, and he didn't know it but you considered it a date.
Try 2: Two days after the bank robbery, Barry was excited to tell you that the movie you wanted to see was still selling tickets, except there would be a romantic Jitters rooftop dinner. That was exciting. So you got ready together, just like you did everything else. Barry was excited, you were excited and everything was going great since he turned his phone off.
"Tonight is about you. Whatever is happening in the real world can wait for the night." He promised and kissed your nose. "And you look beautiful." He complimented the dress you were supposed to wear the other night. Your cheeks turned red and he continued watching you put your makeup on like he had never saw such a thing before.
You ended up seeing the movie before dinner and you were really excited because it was better than you thought it would be. Dinner was quiet and intimate. Just the both of you smiling and eating, talking about how your week was going and bringing up the interruption from your cancelled date the other night. You forgave him even though he grabbed your hand and kissed your knuckles and apologized repeatedly.
Until Cisco made his way to the rooftop awkwardly and rushed. "Hey uh, nice...date." Barry was angry and you just looked down at your plate. "No need to panic...but there's a shooting at the CCPD...Joe is inside." Barry pushed himself out of his seat, there was a beautiful red streak where Barry had disappeared and returned as The Flash. You understood, his adopted father was in the building. He had to help him.
Barry made his way to you and caressed your cheek, the cold leather making your skin jolt. "You okay?" He kissed your forehead. "I'm so sorry-"
"No you have to go, the man who raised you is in that building. If you didn't want to go I'd have to make you." You assured him and Barry was gone, your hair whipping around your face and the napkins from the table hit you in the arm.
Cisco chewed his fist and you knew he felt bad. "I can help you clean. Or help you eat it." He offered. When you pointed to Barry's empty seat, Cisco became jittery and took Barry's place, helping you eat through the table of food.
Try 3: You were starting to feel suspicious when Barry showed up in your bedroom late last night. You woke up to him stroking your hair and caressing your cheek with his thumb.
"What are you doing here?" You asked with your voice filled with sleep. You rolled over to face him, you could tell he was tired. It was late and he should be asleep from kicking ass everyday of the week.
"I feel really bad about everything that's been happening. Come on. Walk with me." He held out his hand that you willingly took and he helped you out of bed.
So your date was uninterrupted, nothing special, just a walk in the park. Holding hands and talking. Everything was casual and relaxing. "This is all I wanted. I just want you to myself for a while. Is that too much to ask for?"
Barry gave your hand a reassuring squeeze. "No it's not. I'm all yours right now. Whatever you want to do."
"It's like one in the morning." You laughed and he was soon joining in. "I mean I think I was having trouble sleeping anyway." You ran your hands along his chest.
"Well technically it's Valentine's Day. It's one in the morning on February fourteenth. Maybe you want to get started early?" He grinned crookedly.
"That sounds promising." Was all you said before you were in his arms and making your way back to your house.
So maybe you didn't need a fancy date, but you needed Barry. And at least an hour of his attention on Valentine's Day. Your date was a walk in the park and spending time with him. It was as simple as that and you asked for nothing more, nothing less.

Pairing: Barry Allen/The flash x shy!reader
Description: Barry just wants to tell Y/N how he feels. Y/N just wants to tell Barry how she feels. They’re both just a little too awkward to confess anything, though.
Warnings: swearing??? That should be it
This is also probably trash but maybe you’ll like it??? idk
Barry didn’t expect Bruce Wayne to be sitting on a chair in his computer lab when he walked into the warehouse, and definitely didn’t expect Bruce Wayne to ask him to become apart of his team to defeat Steppenwolf.
“Okay, but there’s nothing special about me,” Barry said, walking over to one of his computer’s.
“Then what’s this costume for?” Bruce asked, standing up and walking over to the flash suit.
“I do competitive ice dancing,” Barry lied, pulling up a tab on his computer.
“Right, right.”
Just then, the warehouse door opened and you, his best friend and crush-not-crush, walked in.
Barry turned around and looked at you, smiling. You smiled back and both of you blushed. Bruce noticed this and looked from you to Barry. He then quickly pulled out a Batarang and threw it in your direction.
Barry's eyes went wide. He knew what Bruce was doing, trying to get him to show his power’s. Everything was suddenly in slow motion. He ran over to you and grabbed your wrist with his left hand, pulling you out of the way. He grabbed the Batarang with his right hand and caught it between his fingers.
Bruce smirked and sat back down in the chair. “Not special, huh?”
“You know, this is lovely and all, but I would appriciate if you didn’t throw Batarangs at my girlf- best friend. Thanks.”
You blushed behind Barry and looked at the ground.
“Okay, well hurry up and make up your mind, kid.”
Barry sighed and let go of your wrist. “Yeah, I’ll come.”
“W-wait, where are you going?” You asked in a whisper.
“I have no idea. I just have to go with Mr. Wayne here to-”
“Can I come?”
The question caught both Barry and Bruce off guard, as they stared at you for quite a few minutes.
“Depends,” Bruce said. “Can you fight?”
“Well, kind of. I know how to shoot a gun and use a bow and arrow, though.”
Barry coughed awkwardly. “So you’re saying that you know how to use a bow and arrow but you never told me?”
“Yeah...”
Barry looked at you with admiration in his eyes.
Bruce cleared his throat and looked at you. “Okay lovebirds, hurry up, we don’t have all day.”
You blushed and looked down.
“Right,” Barry mumbled, “Sorry.”
Both of you walked in opposite directions. You went to grab your jacket and Barry went to grab a box of pizza. When you were done you meet at the door with Bruce.
“Why the hell do you have a whole pizza?” Bruce asked Barry as the three of you walked out to Bruce’s car.
“Well, since I have super speed, I burn calories, like, ten times faster than the average human would, so I have-”
You started to zone out after a while, falling asleep in the back of Bruce’s car.
-----
“So anyway, the problem with-”
“Let me stop you right there, kid,” Bruce said. “You talk way too much.”
“Right, sorry. It happens when I’m nervous,” Barry muttered, looking out the car window.
There was an awkward silence before Bruce spoke up.
“So, tell me about your girlfriend.” Bruce looked at Barry and smirked.
“She’s not my girlfriend.”
“You sure? I mean, the way the two of you look at each other and the way you both blush while talking to each other kind of makes it seem like you’re a couple.”
“Yeah, well, we’re not, so just drop it.”
“It’s kind of obvious she likes you, Barry,” Bruce stated.
Barry snorted. “I wish.”
“You should ask her out.”
Barry looked at Bruce with his mouth agape. “What?”
Bruce sighed. “Listen, kid, you like her, she likes you. Ask her out. You two would make one hell of a couple.”
“I-I can’t. I mean, god I want to so bad, but I can’t. She’s my best friend and I don’t want to ruin our friendship if she doesn’t like me back. I wish I could but, I just can’t.”
“Kid, listen. You have to try. If you don’t try now, you may never get the chance.”
“Yeah, but what if-”
“Enough of the ‘what if’s’. You’re going to ask her by the end of the day, got it?”
“Um, yeah. Okay, yeah. I’ll ask her by the end of the day, I promise.”
-----
You woke up just as Bruce parked his car at the Batcave. Bruce opened the door and stepped out of the car, you and Barry following after him.
“Oh my god...” Barry muttered, looking around.
“Pretty great, right?” Bruce asked, walking away. You and Barry followed likewise, taking in your surroundings as you walked along.
At one point Barry absentmindedly reached out and grabbed your hand, intertwining your fingers. You blushed and looked down at your intertwined hands, smiling to yourself.
You continued to follow Bruce for a few more minutes before you stopped in a large room. At a table sat a young woman and an older man. The young woman stood up and walked over to you and Barry. You felt Barry drop your hand when she reached you two.
“You must be our new recruits. It’s wonderful to meet you. I’m Diana.”
She held out her hand Barry took it. “Hi Barry, I’m Diana,” Barry said. “Wait, no, that’s not right.”
You snickered as Diana pulled away and put her hand out towards you. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Y/N.”
She looked at both of you and smiled. “So, are you two a-”
“No, we’re not,” Barry protested, cutting her off.
“Oh.”
An awkward silence settled in the room before Bruce cleared his throat. “I’m just going to need to take Barry here for a few seconds, to, talk,” Bruce suggested, grabbing Barry’s upper arm.
“But, Mr. Wayne-” Barry interrupted.
Bruce pulled Barry away before you could here anything else. You swore you saw him wink at Diana before he left.
“So, Y/N,” Diana began, starting to walk forward. “Tell me about yourself.”
“Well, uh, I like animals, and art,” you muttered. “I also guess I like read. I mean, okay, I love to read. I can shoot a bow and arrow, too.”
“That’s cool. I know how to use a sword.”
“Cool.”
It was quiet for a minute and you could only hear the clicking of Diana’s heels. “Do you have a boyfriend?”
You felt your face heat up. “Well, no, but-”
“Are you interested in anyone by chance?”
“I mean, yeah, but-”
“It’s Barry, isn’t it?”
You sighed. “Is it that obvious?”
She laughed. “Just a little.”
“Damn.”
“You should ask him out. Like, on a date. I’m positive he likes you, too.”
You snickered. “That’s funny.”
“Oh, come on. It’s obvious he likes you back. I mean, he was the one that grabbed your hand, wasn’t he?” Diana smirked.
“You saw that?”
“Obviously. We all did. You could probably hold his hand more if you asked him on a date.”
“Yeah, no.”
“Why not?”
“Out of all the people in the world he could possibly like, why the hell would it be me?”
“Well, you’re a beautiful young lady who is very sweet and is an absolutly wonderful person, even if I’ve only known you for an hour or so.”
“Your point is?”
She sighed. “Y/N, my point is that you should take that chance and-”
“WE’RE BACK!” Bruce exclaimed, walking in the room with Barry following behind him.
“Wonderful. Bruce, do you think I could talk to you for a minute?” Diana asked, smiling at Bruce.
“Of course.”
As they were walking out of the room, Diana turned around and winked at you.
“Hey,” you muttered.
“Hey.”
There was a long pause before you both spoke up. “So I was thinking-”
“You first.”
“No, you go.”
“Okay,” Barry paused. “So, I was wondering if you maybe wantedtogotothemovieswithmethisSaturday?”
You looked at him for a few seconds in confusion. “W-what?”
“I was-I was wondering if you wanted to go to the movies with me this Saturday?” He mumbled, looking at the ground.
“Like-like a date?”
“I mean, yeah. O-only if you want it to be a date, though. It doesn’t have to be if-” You cut him off by gently pressing your lips against his.
The kiss was over about as quick as it happened, but for Barry it felt like forever.
“So I’m gonna take that as a yes?”
“Yes, Barry Allen. I would love to go on a date with you.”
You both smiled at each other, leaning in for another kiss.
“FINALLY!”

Hope you liked it! Remember to send a request if you have one!
Request: from @avengers-and-jedis “GOSH YOUR BARRY ALLEN FIC WAS ADORABLE! Can you write one with an artist!reader! (Ezra’s Barry please) Thank you!” Thank you so much! This was an amazing idea and I’m so glad you requested it! Remember if you have a request to send it!
Pairing: Barry Allen/The flash x reader
Description: You just need inspiration for your next piece. That’s when your boyfriend, Barry, comes to save the day.
Warnings: Swearing, like always
You sighed in frustration and threw your pencil at the wall. Groaning, you put your forehead on your desk. “This is so stupid...” you muttered to yourself, closing your eyes.
There was a knock at the apartment door. You stood up and walked out of your office, opening up the door. There stood your boyfriend, anxiously waiting with his hands behind his back.
“Hey babe,” you said, smiling up at him.
“Hey,” he replied, putting an arm around your waist. He pulled you into him and kissed your forehead.
You sighed and put your head on his chest.
“What’s wrong?”
“You know that art project I have to do for class?”
“Yeah.”
“Well it’s due in a week and I haven’t even started it.”
“Oh.” Barry frowned. He knew how important this project was. It would determine if you passed or not.
“Yeah, I guess I just haven’t found the inspiration for it yet,” you mumbled.
You walked into your apartment and sat down on your couch, Barry sitting next to you. You put your head on his shoulder and closed your eyes. He put an arm around your waist and put his head on yours.
“This is so frustrating.”
“You need any help?”
“No, it’s fine. I guess I’ll just fail the class,” you paused. “I’m not even that good of an artist anyways.”
Barry lifted up his head and turned to look at you. He put a hand on your cheek and made you look at him.
“That’s not true.”
“Well...” you whispered, your voice trailing off.
“Y/N, you’re one of the most talented people I know. You may be the most talented person I know. Just because you don’t have inspiration for this project doesn’t make you a bad artist. I promise you’re going to get an A, and you’re going to pass this class,” he told you, smiling.
“Thanks,” you sighed, leaning in and lightly pressing your lips to his. You smiled into the kiss. You may have finally found an idea for your project.
-----
A week later, you handed in your project to your professor.
“This is amazing, Miss L/N,” she told you, admiring your art. “You wouldn’t mind if I put this in tomorrow night’s art contest, would you?”
You smiled. “No, not at all.”
She smiled back. “Wonderful, I’ll see you then.”
-----
“Barry, come on!” You yelled, anxiously tapping your foot. “We’re gonna be late!”
Just then, your boyfriend walked out of your room, putting on his jacket. “Okay, I’m here.”
“You know, for being the fastest man alive, I would’ve expected you to find your jacket a lot sooner,” you snickered, looking at him.
“Oh, well I’m sorry I couldn’t find the jacket you stole from me.”
“Well, I’m sorry it’s so comfortable,” you giggled, sticking out your hand. “Now, come on, before we really are late.”
He grabbed your hand and intertwined your fingers. “Whatever you say, babe.”
You both walked out of your apartment building and into the cold December night. You knew you only had to walk a few blocks to get to the art contest, but damn it was cold.
Barry saw you shiver and threw his arm over your shoulder. “You know, we could get there a lot quicker if-”
“No, Barry,” you said, cutting him off. “You’re not allowed to use your super speed.”
“Damn.”
You giggled and kissed his cheek. “We’re almost there, anyway.”
Barry smiled to himself as the two of you crossed the street. You walked down the sidewalk in silence until the faint sound of classical music could be heard. As you turned the corner, hundreds of people came into view.
You smiled to yourself as Barry removed his arm from your shoulder.
“Y/N!” You heard someone shout as you turned around. Your best friend, Angelica (sorry if that’s your name, just change it I guess), came running up to you. She jumped into you, throwing her arms around your neck. “You made it! Took you long enough.”
“Sorry.”
“Doesn’t matter. They’re announcing the winners of the art contest in ten minutes!” She yelled, grabbing your wrist. “We have to go see who won!”
You looked back a Barry and gave him an apologetic look before Angelica pulled you away from him.
Angelica pulled you to the area where they had all the art out. You smiled to yourself, seeing your professor standing next to your painting. She looked at you and waved, indicating she wanted to talk.
You walked up to her and smiled. “Mrs. Smith! Thank you so much!”
“Oh, it’s not a problem, dear! You are an amazing artist, after all.”
You blushed and looked at the ground. “Well, I wouldn’t say amazing...”
“Nonsense! You’re one of my best students! You have such an amazing talent, I’m surprised you haven’t won some kind of award! Speaking of which-”
“All art contest judges are needed at the judging table,” said a voice over the speakers.
“Oh, that’s me! I’m so sorry. I hope you have a wonderful night!” She waved and walked off, leaving you alone. You decided to go find Angelica again since she managed to wander farther away from you than expected.
As you were walking through the crowds of people, you ran into someone. You stumbled backward and would’ve fallen if they hadn’t caught you.
“Oh my god I’m so sorry I didn’t-”
You looked up and saw your boyfriend rambling with such an apologetic look on his face. You giggled and stood up, leaning forward and setting your lips on his.
“You should really watch where you’re going, Barry.”
He looked at you with admiration in his eyes before he wrapped his arms around your waist. “You’re one to talk, L/N.”
He pressed his lips to yours and you smiled. Leaning into the kiss, you ran a hand through his hair.
“We are now announcing the winners of the art show!” The same voice as before said.
You pulled away from Barry. “That’s my cue.”
You grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the crowd around the judging table.
“I would like to thank everyone for coming out tonight!” Mrs. Smith began. “I am amazed at all the artwork that was put in the contest! Sadly, only one of you can get first. I would like to congratulate that award to...”
“...Miss Y/N L/N!”
You threw your hands up to cover your mouth in excitement. Barry looked at you with the widest grin on his face. “That’s you, babe.”
You slowly started to walk up towards the judging table.
“Congratulations, Miss, L/N,” Mrs. Smith said, handing you your trophy and painting.
“Thank you.” You smiled and walked up to her, wrapping your arms around her and pulling her into a hug. “Thank you, so much.”
“No problem, dear.”
You heard everyone around you clapping, but all of it drowned out with the pounding sound of your heartbeat.

After the crowd cleared, you ran towards Barry.
“I won!” You exclaimed as you jumped into him.
“I know. I was there.” He smirked and wrapped his arms around your waist as you jumped up and wrapped your legs around his. “I’m proud of you.”
“I couldn’t have done it without you, Barry.”
“Why’s that?”
“Well,” you began, resting your forehead on his. “You were my inspiration.”
He gave you a questionable look.
“I painted you, Barry. I painted you and that god damn award winning smile.”
“I’m flattered.”
You giggled and gently pecked his lips. “I wouldn’t have won that award without you. You’re really a hero, Barry. You’re my hero.”

That felt rushed and was probably trash but I hope you liked it!
