So w101 is split into ‘worlds’. And each world has its own storyline that fits into the larger storyline. And most of the worlds have anthropromorphic animals instead of humans occupying them. Which is okay I guess, since Celestia and Khrysalis don’t have real world counterparts and also have that. But Mooshu is basically Japan with Chinese names for the NPCs, and Zafaria came across as really pan-african to me.

the battle system’s great, there’s a lot of racist undertones later in the game, there is nooo lore, and it’s a total moneysink, but it’s really  fun and addicting and the community is cool

there’s a lot of side stuff you can do in addition to the main quest, which is cool

What happened in it

It wasn’t even that scary? It started out with this girl I’d never seen before saying she knew me because I’d tutored her recently. When I said I didn’t know her and that all my recent tutoring students had been guys, all these people (mostly people I knew from high school or my old church) got mad at me and put me on trial where nobody would tell me the rules and the whole thing was meant to humiliate me. Finally I was like fuck this and left (I may have jumped off a balcony to escape?) but then I was home with my parents and these people were breaking into our house to continue embarrassing me and in some cases trying to hurt/kill me. So I screamed because someone had broken into the house again, except apparently I actually screamed out loud in real life. Oops.

ok but ur post about knight lands makes me wonder the commonalities between the other classes and the lands...

It’s a little hard to pin down. It’s unknown how most of the characters felt about their lands. Jade and Tavros both liked theirs…and that’s it. The only three characters with negative reactions to their lands were Rose, Dave, Karkat and Eridan. It was never said, but Sollux’s land of Brains and Fire was pretty much the embodiement of his huge mutant brain/migraines so he might have hated his land too, for throwing his weaknesses in his face. Lets see, Dave & Eridan felt threatened by their lands, Karkat and Rose felt antagonized. Rose and Dave’s lands could be seen as a visual representation of their relationship to their parents. Karkat’s denizen reflected his weakness as a player (At least that’s how he saw it). Vriska hated Tavros’ land and it’s ‘boring puzzles’, being stuck there in the afterlife might have influenced her decision to become relevant again. I’m starting to think that you can look at someone’s planet and find out what makes them tick. For Karkat, Rose and Dave, I think their lands were supposed to help them learn things about themselves or gain some understanding about how they worked as people
