There is an over abundance of bullfrogs and red sided turtles in this man made lake as people in the area decided to release their pets they decided were no longer worth taking care of here.
Although a pair of North American Bald Eagles (they are actually more native to parts of Canada than the US) have set up roost on the park and fish alongside the Great Grey Heron, the ecosystem of the lake is still struggling.
Please, if you have a reptilian or amphibious pet that you can no longer reasonably take care of, do not release them to the wild EVER. Relinquish them to reptile/amphibian shelter.
These animals and ecosystems deserve more respect than what they are currently shown.
