hello Lance! i'm mildly clueless but i am interested in your theoretical six hundred slide powerpoint (this is sparked by your post re: fate/extra last encore. i am decently sure it's on netflix but i'm not sure if it's a good idea at this level of Fate) so assuming that i've seen Unlimited Blade Works, Zero, and Apocrypha, and am more or less trekking through F/GO, what is your recommend for next Fate? the sheer volume of possibilities is daunting but also: Cu Chulainn is there, potentially
alright here’s some options
play the original visual novel. I have downloads for it here. it’s around 80 hours of playtime without going out of your way for bad ends, but it’ll give you all 3 routes in all their 2004 glory. personally i feel the earlier you play the vn the better, because the more nasuverse exposition you absorb from other stuff the more of a slog it is to get through all the explanations of stuff you already know but which was still completely new back then. aside from giving you the routes you haven’t seen on the big screen yet it also has a bunch of stuff ubw anime left out, so if you want Lore that’s absolutely where to go. cu chulainn is there.
OR
play fate/hollow ataraxia. it’s a sequel to fate/stay night and gets better if you at least sorta know what happens in each route, but it doesn’t directly follow any of them and I played it before I finished heaven’s feel at the time. it’s another 80-ish hour visual novel because fate be like that. I don’t have downloads ready for it but there’s both a translation patch and a voice patch, no censor patch as far as i know tho. cu chulainn is there even more than in fsn. shirou calls him a fine man.
OR
play fate/extra. it’s a psp game and one of my personal favourite fates. the grail war in this one is a 128 person tournament set in a digital simulation on the moon. it features some familiar faces from fsn, most notably archer as a playable character. the story follows hakuno kishinami, a master who accidentally ended up in the tournament and can’t remember their past, as they try to figure out who they are and why they joined the war while also trying not to die. the gameplay is best described as extreme rock paper scissors and it’s kind of a grindfest but if you play on emulator you get to savescum past everything so it’s fine. ppsspp is the one I used and it works great. cu chulainn is there but only barely.
