LET KIDS CRAFT BEAUTIFUL ANIMATIONS WITH THEIR HANDS>>> A joyful mindful afternoon hand making illustrations, and paper cut stop frame animations, letting the ink flow and the scissors snip-snip-snip away! We recently ran an animation workshop for a school group visiting from India with @culturefox, and are now offering this as a workshop for 8+ year olds next weekend. We will co-create mini-scenes of JOURNEYS the kids recount or invent, and make paper puppets through utilising split pins, drawing.  We will investigate simple character and story design, fashion illustration techniques, and learn about the work of illustrators and animators. >>> Positive screen time-Activating kids hands to stop simply scrolling on phones, and instead investing in creativity with capturing beautifully hand made stories. Art Activism with Grade 1 Primary School kids at Berlin Metropolitan School 🙌 Having your say: The power of art as painted banners to make important persuasive statements. In their writer’s workshop, the kids had created a call to action for the school community, using their own written responses to their class theme, Save the Planet. Across a few workshops we designed and created banners. Once they had made the banners in their groups, the kids found their spaces around the building to wear them, to try to encourage people to get into discussions, and  take action, eg healthy eating during break time,  with great interest in their messages. We looked at styles and ideas in Bob and Roberta Smiths protest works, and also recent protests in Berlin, such as for the Kita Crisis. The original 'Art Makes Children powerful' painting by #bobandrobertasmith makes such an important and often overlooked statement, especially for young kids.
