meeting today to discuss my care needs. suggested to get me cheap shower commode (plastic wheelchair for shower or toilet needs). started needing this 1+ year ago. if its agreed I get it, it will be 1-2 months until delivery.

in time since started needing this, have declined. keep getting more disabled. but getting support takes time. i keep declining faster than my supports can catch up.

now my showering needs are more like. carer to wash me while i sit in a tilt/recline shower chair, with sunglasses to block out the lights, and am only barely able to help process, and need help to transfer in/out.

but the reality is i dont have the shower commode thats promised, and I don't have the tilt/recline chair that i need. in reality i have a basic shower chair with a back and arms. and i keep falling forward out of it, or off my transfer board. my knees are getting bruised and i keep banging my arms on tile. and its just going to keep being this way until beurocracy catches up, or i decline enough that i cant shower at all, and need bedbaths or go unwashed.

I just got a letter from the hospital today informing me that on February 21st of LAST YEAR. Someone (they won't tell me who) accessed their computers illegally and downloaded among other things;

My health insurance data

My medical records

My billing information

My social security number

A copy of my ID

I reiterate this information was stolen a year ago. I was informed today.

The amount of paperwork that people in the US are expected to do on a day to day basis to get access to nesseccities is really fucking ableist and I am not joking about that. And the needs of people whose disabilities make it harder for us to do paperwork so often just go completely unaddressed because people that don't have that problem just think we're stupid and/or lazy.

And like, you can sometimes get assistance with stuff like that, but you know what you have to do to get access to those services most of the time?

Paperwork.

So when we reported my dad, he got suspended from nursing. He then died. Just found out that months after his death, the suspension board reviewed the case and the meeting notes have such gems as "[name] will be notified in writing" and "[name] will be entitled to attend a hearing and represent himself" and "unless there is a material change in circumstances". Like, guys, he's dead. I don't think any of that is going to work out too well for you. Anyway, they're due a review soon...
