Hi! Thought I’d tell you about my day! I watched a murder documentary and like people do really fucked up things for no reason. It’s wild. And also, I chilled all day, got some cake, and cheese, and it was overall a chill day. How was your day???

I’m glad you had a chill day! But you’re totally right, people do some real fucked up stuff!! I’m glad that I am friends with non-fucked up people, bc there’s some truly wild shit out there. But true crime docs are also kinda fun to watch, so 😬 its a tradeoff, I suppose!

Cake and cheese and chilling are all lovely! Sounds like you had a day with a lot of good elements to it, that’s really awesome :) it’s nice to enjoy things and be low key for a bit.

My day was okay! Work has been crazy lately, which is good because it means I have lots to do, but also a little annoying because sometimes I just wanna be lazy and take naps, you know? I’m hoping that I can leverage my success in these crazy times to get a promotion in like, idk, 9 months maybe? A promotion would be cool. I also got to talk to a friend for a bit, which was nice! And I drank some wine and hung out on my roof for a while, which was also nice! Thank you for asking :)

@micooll re: your reply to my Fiona post a couple days ago- It took me a hot sec to organize my thoughts. I mostly agree with you that it’s early days yet, and we’re going off what little we know until she’s able to establish a persona for herself. It’s why I don’t want to decry the fandom or jump to conclusions. And I’m definitely going to wait a few months until she’s settled in to reassess the situation and my own thoughts/knee jerk feelings.

My discomfort stems from the following: it feels a lot like we saw people hating on Fiona indiscriminately, so we decided to combat that hatred with love and positivity. But in deciding to shower her with love, so much of the fandom has chosen to compliment her physical beauty rather than her personality and on-screen moments. Maybe I’m just still on my college gender studies 101 bullshit, or maybe I’ve read one too many comments calling her “nothing more than a titty streamer”, but I don’t like that.

To an extent, it almost feels like a flip side of the “demean a woman by treating her as nothing more than a pretty face” coin- ie build up a woman by saying she’s got a stunningly pretty face. Either way, the end result is that Fiona has been reduced to her physical features, despite the fact that she does have a good and fun personality and some good moments onscreen even with the handful of videos she’s been in so far.

I’m still not nearly as articulate as I would like to be about this, and I want to reiterate that I do think things will change as we get to know Fiona better. But I am a little surprised that this is the route the fandom went down to express their support of her.

Ahh sorry for the late response! I’m glad you had fun :) I always hesitate when sending someone prompts because it’s like, what if the writer doesn’t like the ship? What if they’re busy? So I’m really happy you had fun writing it haha. Do you have an AO3 or a writing tag? I’d love to read other stuff by you!
