Antler growing out of a deer’s eye-socket. [source]
"But companies/corporations would stop if it really was that dangerous!"
Let me give you some homework, research like any of these
Asbestos
The cover-up (and really continued cover-up) of Asbestos killing factory workers, civilians, and 9/11 victims by Asbestos profiting corporations such as Johns-Manville, Raybestos Manhattan, National Gypsum Company & several more
Entire towns and cities are still poisoned to this day due to proximity of mixed mineral mines known to contain asbestos
And by the way asbestos is far more dangerous than they probably told back in history, as it is not only carcinogenic (cancer-causing), but it basically turns your lungs into sandpaper from the inside out
Lead
The cover-up of the discovery of lead and chromium poisoning by companies and organizations such as Dupont, the Lead Industries Association, NL Industries, General Motors, and many more
According to the WHO in 2022 one million people still die every year from lead poisoning, and that's just the people who die, not including those who will be affected with long-term health effects by lead (especially children)
Even the creator of Leaded Gasoline, Thomas Midgley Jr. participated in cover-ups and spreading misinformation about the safety of lead up until his very death
PFAS Chemicals
Again Dupont dumped PFAS chemicals into the Ohio River for decades
And tried to threaten and silence families, rural and urban, that had evidence of not only the cancer caused by PFAS chemicals but the severe birth defects in both people and animals
Chemours, another major company got into similar trouble for basically doing the exact same thing to an entire city in West Virginia
Several other companies have been involved in similar things, and the regulation of PFAS chemicals is still not very strong in so-called "first world" nations
Also if you're anywhere from a boomer to gen Z you are likely poisoned with PFAS chemicals right now, especially C8
(I mean it's in your microwave popcorn)
Thalidomide
When initially released as a potential medicine for nausea during pregnancy without proper research on the medicine's effect on the development of fetus and baby, it became instantly obvious that Thalidomide caused major birth defects, especially phocomelia and dysmelia.
What made this issue into such a massive scandal though wasn't the improper research or testing because of the time period (1950s-1960s)
But instead we can focus on the nation at the time of West Germany. It's board of health was basically gutted and in shambles due to the mess that it was a decade beforehand under the regime of the nazis. While the Germans dilly-dallied about proper regulation and research into the sudden boom of birth defects they were noting, thousands of children were born with phocomelia and dysmelia
Mad Cow Disease
Due to the fact that Britain wanted to cut as many corners as possible in the production of beef, they decided upon the brilliant idea to feed cows... cow.
This instead lead to a semi-global, but especially local, outbreak of one of the most dangerous and scariest diseases in the world- a form of Prion Disease, dubbed Mad Cow Disease (BSE) for animals and vCJD for humans, and yes it was technically zoonotic as you obtained it through consumption of contaminated meat.
(You can also pass it to any children if anybody happened to catch it while pregnant, and it sits dormant, and it kills you by eating you from the inside out and turning your brain into a sponge)
Despite the fact the Britain knew pretty early on that a brand new never-before seen disease was appearing in its cows, they didn't do a damn thing about it and continued to tell people that beef was safe
Even as other animals, specifically people's pet cats and a tiger from a zoo developed the disease, they continued to tell people that beef was safe
Only after A DECADE of spread did the alarm sound, and in 1996 the Secretary of State for Health announced that cow meat was related to the prion disease spread
I honestly could keep going as I haven't even had a chance to touch on similar scandals in non-western nations, or many of the similar scandals we are currently going through right now
But seriously I find this argument one of the stupidest out there. People don't care about you. Companies especially don't. They care about money.
Shout out to people with birth differences or “abnormal” physical presentations in any way shape or form as a kid, that got things cosmetically changed when they were little or were constantly pressured to do so. People don’t realise how much of the medical industry is cosmetic sometimes, y’all are great and it’s okay to feel betrayed or sad or angry about what happened or still happening.
Hahaha I’m so dumb
So like
Mama cats can be really protective and possessive, especially at the daddy cat
Angel’s a spider tho
Also, no, those aren’t the names. Angel is just ✨high✨
Hold up,I just found out that there is a condition where a human can be born with only one eye,and it's a birth disorder called cyclopia. Like the cyclopes in mythology.
Now,what if the mist fails and the mortals see some bits of cyclopes, but they are like "Omg,poor soul, they have cyclopia. I hope life will be kind to them." And the poor cyclop is just there like "??? Tf you talking about?? I'm good?"
I might be Intersex
So, I finally went to my endocrinology appointment, which is great!
I’ve always had many of hormone issues: precocious puberty (developed breast buds at 7- started menstruation at 9 y/o), menopausal symptoms in teens, extremely low estrogen, diagnosed with PCOS, and I’m fully developed as a 16 y/o.
I have all the “typical” female parts as far as I know, I’ve had ultrasounds and whatnot. However, my endocrinologist believes I have Mosaic Turner’s Syndrome. He believes this because of the age my mother gave birth to me (37 y/o), and all my abnormal symptoms and irregular development.
Typically, females have 46 XX chromosomes. However, with Mosaic Turner’s Syndrome a female could have some chromosomes be a full typical XX, and others be XO (missing an X), XY (typically a male chromosome), Have extra X’s: XXX, or a full X and missing half of an X.
I am not diagnosed with this, but I feel understood. I feel like this might be who I am. I’ve gotten my blood drawn for testing- but my insurance only covered checking 26 chromosomes. Good thing is though, I’m going to a geneticist and they can test more and my insurance will cover it.
I will update with results as soon as I receive them! Should take 4-6 weeks.
has anyone bullied you or hurt you irl due to your cleft palate?
/gen
(i think it really fits your vibe like your ":3" its so cute bro
Yes lol people take pictures of me and call me a harelip (harelip is a slur for cleft lip people) they say I look like Dobby the elf, Esperanza Jimenez from raising Dion, a kitty or a bunny (I know it's meant to be nice but it still feels rude) they say I'm undateable, they don't want to be friends, that I'm the ugliest girl they've ever seen, and they accuse my mom of doing drugs or alcohol even after I say no that's not what my cleft is from (it's a genetic from my dad) and mind you this is a lot of adults, people bombard me with stupid questions too like "Do you have teeth?" And "can you breathe?"
(this is why I think it's rude for people to compare my birth defect to an animal)
Harelip: The term's persistence was amplified by superstitious folk beliefs. Across various cultures, it was believed that if a pregnant woman saw, ate, or even thought about a hare, she could cause her child to be born with a cleft lip. This connected the condition to fear and negative associations with the animal.
Harelip: The word harelip was coined based on the visual resemblance of a human cleft lip to the naturally occurring, divided upper lip of a hare.
Guys I may make it through 2025 without a knee dislocation
