It was November. I had no idea where I was, or what was going on, but I was warm and I was comfortable. I was not ready to leave just yet. The space I was in, once large enough, seemed to be getting tighter, squashing me and forcing me to downwards. It went from dark to bright-white light in a flash, I couldn’t focus, and my head was spinning… 13 days late. 22 hours of labour… Wednesday…. I already hated Wednesdays. Today I celebrate my 29th birthday as some of you know. In all honestly I genuinely never saw myself getting this far in life, let alone be so happy, especially with all the difficulties that have been faced, both personally and on a global scale especially lately. BPD has often left me feeling quite sad on this day as I have always struggled so much with my self worth. But not so much anymore. Today I stand tall in the fact that I have survived. Today I stand tall in knowing that despite all the negative, and despite all the bad, there is so much love and kindness in this world. No matter how dark and bleak it may seem, it does get better. Thank you to everyone who has stood by me, supported me, and loved me despite my difficulties.
