Well, it’s over.

Although Biscuit pulled through the treatment, he didn’t survive the deterioration of his body condition that resulted from that. Eventually his heart just gave out. Yesterday he got to be serenaded by another budgie, he was warm, and he was active.

This wasn’t entirely a surprise, but it is disappointing, especially since the illness we’d been treating had been almost asymptomatic before treatment (although it was probably what made Boggle vulnerable to his respiratory infection). It’s hard not to feel like a bad pet owner... but at least half of this nightmare has been all of the things we’ve been trying to do to keep him alive and comfortable.
