Educate the heart. Let us have good men. — Hiram Powers . I think of realism art as the 2nd floor of a building and we're on the 1st floor; To arrive at realism we need to take steps to get there. Too many get frustrated because they try (and fail) with 1 great leap to land on realism. I recently demonstrated a technique for a good start to a drawing called a block-in.
