This Tumblr is now becoming a personal blog for myself. The majority of my posts will be of my own content, relating to the gym, fitness, healthy eating and job hunting. It has been a hot minute since I've made a post. So here goes..
My days are pretty much the same each week with a few differences here and there. Mid week is, of course, work every day 9-5. I got to the gym before work on Monday, yes before. I think that was the day that I actually felt the best. I was energised and I felt completely accomplished all day because I had actually made it to the gym! I only did a short workout - 10 minute sprints and then a back/shoulder workout - but I felt so good afterwards. I even treated myself to a Costa, one of their new autumnal drinks to get into the cold weather mood.
I made it to the gym another day too, but after work, for a lower body workout. These days are normally more focussed on weights so I don't bother with any cardio (because I hate it). That was Thursday and it killed me, in a good way.
Saturday is park run day! (pic 1). A 5km run around the local park that, again, kills me each and every time. This week was especially hard because my mum was on holiday (I normally do it with her) so I didn't have anyone to push me to go, but I still made it! Also, the weather was unusually warm which made some parts of the trail super tough. And then that Thursday leg session was still haunting me so my legs felt very weak and I was preparing for a rubbish time. Buuuut there is some good news, because this week I got my PB of 33:23!! (the time on here is a bit out because I had to start the timer before I put it in my pocket and then didn't stop it as soon as I crossed the finish!). So, yes I’m glad I did it.
Food and healthiness has also been up and down this week. Because mum is on holiday the cooking is down to me and dad, eeeek. So we have had a takeaway and a meal out at a restaurant but, as I discussed in my last post, that’s fine because it’s all about balance! Tonight we’re having fish so that’ll be a nice healthy meal to counter my looooovely lasagne I had (and don't feel guilty about) last night.
My lunch today is kind of an example of the sort of lunch I would take to work! I like to structure my lunch in a way that avoids me picking at goodies that have been brought in for the office to share, such as mini brownies, sausage rolls and pastries, to name a few. And it also stops me from popping to the Asda or Greggs across the road! My basic system is - a breakfast snack (usually a fibre one bar), then a main (here as a flatbread sandwich), a side (crisps), fruit x2, and a treat (nuts).
What is a typical week for you guys? I love reading your messages in response to my posts and I hope this week you’ll inspire me to add something new to my lunches! Also, if you have a park run near you I highly highly recommend you take part!
mixed episodes are really odd. I mean, They probably seem almost impossible from an outsiders view (happy and sad at the same time?? what!) But a inner experience of them is even more odd than you would think
it’s suffering, but different to depression. I am not truly suicidal. I do not want to die, I just want to this to end. (But I am amazing?)
The emotions I do not care about, however, i am grateful for being able to get shit done, without too much pressure or agitation.
On one hand I wanna scream and say get rid of this. on one hand i would say my emotions are more difficult, harder to predict, and i am scared I will lose control. but would I prefer to be mildly depressed over this? No.
