My thoughts about the 6.0 version update [07.09.26]
The 9th of July was supposed to be a happy day for the Love and Deepspace community.
Some of us were looking forward to the long-awaited Main Story update. Others were excited to finally meet a new Love Interest. And some of us were ready to hide in the kitchen and recover from the angst -because Once Upon a Frame was already an unexpected hurt/comfort experience, and from the summaries of Sylus and Caleb’s upcoming stories… well, we knew we were probably going to suffer again.
Honestly, I was a little bit of all these categories.
I had some doubts, but I was still confident that, given enough time, Infold could make things work. Valko truly felt like a missing piece of the puzzle that the creators had been building for us.
Right now, I feel sad. But I also can’t bring myself to blame Infold for taking a careful approach. The lack of communication is concerning, in my opinion, because it suggests that they are dealing with something serious behind the scenes. After the threats and the extreme reactions from some people, taking time to figure out the best course of action seems reasonable.
I don’t think the multi-banner rerun was necessarily a bad decision, nor do I think it was wrong for them to deliver what they announced during the 6.0 livestream. The most important thing for me is that they didn’t rush out a meaningless Main Story update just to fill the silence or pretend nothing happened.
At this moment, they probably cannot openly say whether Valko will launch or not, especially while everything is still so tense. So I’m choosing not to lose hope that they are working on a solution and trying to find a way forward.
I also understand why many players are hurt, disappointed, or angry. Valko’s situation affected people in different ways, especially those who had been excited to welcome him into the game. Those feelings are valid, and I don’t think anyone should be forced to simply ignore them.
We need patience. Not because we should ignore what happened, but because more anger, assumptions, and hostility won’t help us find a better outcome.
I will continue supporting the #BRINGVALKOBACK campaign, and at the same time I will continue enjoying the Love Interests, writing my fanfictions and creating headcanons. I started playing this game because it brought me joy, and I don’t want to lose that.
Supporting something doesn’t mean pretending everything is perfect. It means allowing space for criticism while also recognizing that there are real people working behind the scenes who deserve respect.
Maybe this will sound too optimistic to some people. Maybe some will think I’m being naive. But I wanted to be honest with my readers and with myself.
As long as Love and Deepspace continues to bring me happiness, I’ll still be part of this community.
I just hope that, with time, we can return to enjoying this game together.
