I’m in the worst reading slump of my life, just shoot me now
quite literally every book ive read for the past few months has been 3 stars 😭😭😭 im going to crash out i want to enjoy reading again and not be indifferent to every single book !! i just need to read a good book is that too much to askkk
I may look perfectly fine but deep down i have this voice inside my head screaming "Ohhhhhh GODDDDD!! somebody get me out of this reading slump!!!!"
Hi I’m bored so here are some more book recs!
1) Red Rising, I have been on a sci fi kick lately and the book I was most recommended was red rising all I have to say that it was a phenomenal book and actually replaced the cruel prince as my favorite book I have ever read so if I have to recommend any book possible this will definitely be my first recommendation. I think everyone has to read it at least once it is so immersive the characters are so well written and so complex and if you’re starting to dip your toes into science fiction like me, I think it’s a really good starting point because it definitely locks you in within the first three chapters and then after that I could not put the book down so I just incredibly incredibly recommend it for literally any type of reader cause it has some of everything but it is science fiction.
2)divine rivals, listen I know I always recommend fantasy, but after a book slump, I was kind of looking for a standalone book and I found this instead and while this is a two book series, it does an amazing job of writing a war torn fantasy setting with two characters who feel there in the world that’s bigger than themselves and the romance is absolutely adorable. They do get together in the first book, but it doesn’t feel fast paced at all. I think that if you’re a writer or you enjoy literature and even a dash of romance, you will really really enjoy the series. I personally finished it in like 2 to 3 days but if you’re just bored and you want some thing that’s a little tragic but also has a good ending. I would really recommend it.
3) the adventures of Amina Al sirafi, now this book was a little hard to get through only because while I love mythology, I am not that well-versed in Arabic mythology or Middle Eastern mythology in general and this book uses a lot of that type of mythology so it’s different from if I read a book based on Greek mythology. I know a lot about that and I usually don’t have to search anything up this book while it did increase my knowledge a lot it also confused me a lot. But I also recommend it cause there’s not a lot of books that’s mainly adventure based on Arabic culture and many more and it’s not solely based on romance it has that found family feel I absolutely adored the side characters. The humor in this is also amazing along with the old time kind of way they speak, and the world is just very immersive so if you’re looking at something that doesn’t have that much romance is more adventure but also deadly I would definitely recommend this book.
4) dungeon crawler Carl, if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably seen this series pop-up on social media quite a bit but if you haven’t, it’s basically a fantasy book but way more tragic than what you could possibly even imagine. I have started the first book. I still have many many many more to go, but I cannot give this book enough credit it is beautifully written and for the plot that you think it might have it literally just flips it on a 180 and makes you question life if you have red rising or if you’re going to read red rising this needs to be your next read I cannot emphasize this enough. You need to read this now.
Anyways, those are my book recommendations. I hope my descriptions of them kind of help narrow it down a little.

Heyy!! My names Louisa, (Louise for short) this is my first time posting on Tumblr and I’m so excited to be here!
To be honest I don’t use this app a lot and I’m still kind of getting the hang of it. I’ll probably just use this platform to talk and hopefully discuss about books, movies, and tv shows
I’m not quite sure how I’m gonna do things here yet, but you’re welcome to stay and follow ꨄ
every time I add a book to my Currently Reading on goodreads I end up never finishing it, so now that I've finally broken my other curse by picking up and reading a book after a three month drought, I'm not adding it until I finish it
