Q: What fictional world would you love to visit? I have a new product coming to my Etsy store which is NOT A BOOKMARK (though you could use it as a bookmark!) They're postcards for fictional locations! Well, postcard for now. We'll see how these go. This first one is for Terrasen! It started as a bit of a side project I did for fun. I wanted to try watercolour-ish painting in procreate so so set out to do this and... it turned out so much better than I was expecting! I'm quite shocked and impressed with myself 😂 It's TERRIFYING putting it not only out in the world, but also putting it up for sale so I hope you guys like it as much as I do! 🦌 PRODUCT DETAILS 🦌 These postcards are roughly 4x6 inches in size, printed on 300gsm card, and are matte laminated. This series has gorgeous maps and some of the best bonus content of any book I’ve read. There is a bunch of cool illustrations at the end of the last book, a dictionary of Basawar words, a family tree, and an extra short story! It’s so sad that they’re out of print! I’m holding on to hope that one day @blindeyebooks will do a relaunch! 🙏 • • • ❓Have you ever read a series that didn’t have a map that REALLY needed one? 🗺 I can’t believe The Queen’s Thief series didn’t get a map until the FIFTH book! Another series that really needed a map was Doctrine of Labyrinths by Sarah Monette. QOTD: What is your least favourite but also favourite part of bookstagram? That starts as a bit of a downer for Christmas Eve but I was struggling to come up with a caption and that partially inspired the question😅 So least favourite thing... the struggle to come up with captions, especially twice a day 😫The way it feels like you have to change your habits and routine just to try and get even a little bit of engagement to feel successful 😭And then there are all the aesthetic things and books ownership you feel like you need to conform to. Plus judgement some people give you for enjoying certain (usually the popular) books 😒 And then things I like. The talent and gorgeous photos and unique styles 😍 Seeing book recs, especially when it's love for older and less well known books 🥰 The support and positivity of the community (I'm lucky and have not yet seen any real negativity first hand). The support has really been a strong this past week since I opended by bookmark store, @booktineusbookworms. Q: Do you own any signed books? I always forget hust how many I own that are actually signed 😆 I've been lucky to meet a lot of Aussie authors at Supanova and Brisbane Writers Festivals over the years (and a few international authors as well!). And there have been a few books by Aussie authors I pre-ordered from Booktopia that arrived signed which is always a nice surprise! P.S. My Etsy store is having a sale!
