OBSESSIQUE !!

a term (can be used as a gender, orientation, or general identity term) that is related to BPD, obsession, possessiveness, protectiveness, jealousy, affection, attention, [an obsession with] love and romance. it can also be related to more (BPD related) things similar to what is listed.

this term can refer to people who feel these things are related to their orientation, potentially being arospec-related. one may feel like they do not experience "typical" romantic attraction because their attraction is influenced by these things, or these things exist in place of conventional attraction. one may feel their romantic attraction or relationship with romance/attraction is shaped by these things.

this term can also be used as a gender or general identity, if one feels their gender or any aspect of their identity is influenced by these things. it is an intentionally vague, vast term. it can refer to any identity experience as long as it is somewhat related to these things, particularly BPD.

EXAMPLES: romantic attraction that feels obsessive, possessive, unstable. a gender influenced by BPD and obsession with romance and love. feeling obsession/possessiveness/jealousy (in a BPD way) in place of romantic attraction. not knowing if you experience romantic attraction, but feeling your orientation in influenced by BPD and these things. when someone's identity is shaped by obsession, possesiveness, romance, love, BPD, etc. ++ many more experiences that fit the user who identifies with the term!

this term is, of course, only for people with BPD.

Okay, so I know that borderromantic/borderattractional refers to people who can't distinguish between platonic and romantic attraction due to BPD, but what if it's not 100% Like, most of the time, I have a lot of trouble making the distinction, but I've felt definite romantic attraction in the past on a few occasions. Does that count as borderromantic?

Is there a gender/orientation that's based on the individual's tendency to self-sabotage and self-punish? I have BPD and I often can't pin down my gender or attraction-- I can't describe *how* I feel, even to myself, without knowing whether it's truth or a lie I want to believe or a lie I'm punishing myself with.

No worries, it can be pretty difficult to discern due to being neurodivergent. I have a couple terms that you may find useful. :)

Border-: An orientation in which a person with BPD cannot tell the difference between types of attraction due to symptoms of their disorder.

Bordergender (or Borderfluid): A fluctuating gender experienced exclusively by people with BPD. A gender identity lacking a firm grasp on one’s identity, while still experiencing gender, to varying degrees, but having trouble pinning it down to just one label or identity. Having the sense of grasping at labels as much as possible to describe a gender one keeps questioning because one keeps second guessing one’s sense of self and, consequentially, one’s sense of gender.

Exagender: A gender for use by people with BPD. It is influenced or affected by the approval of others. It is usually affected or altered by splitting, which can result in a gendered feeling that is in contrast with the person’s ‘actual’ experience of gender.

So I IDed as quoiromantic for a while because I have trouble distinguishing between romantic and platonic and experience a lot of shades of grey between the two? But then I learned about borderromantic as a term, and I know that my feelings are caused by BPD and that term fits. But can I dual-ID as borderromantic and quoiromantic? I don't really want to give up the quoi label since it's part of my identity. :/ Also, am I still on the aro spectrum, even if I do experience romo attraction?
