My problem with hashtag activism is I want to know what people are doing, not just what they are saying. It's like the celebrities who released the Imagine singing video and thought just their faces would change people's lives. Um, how about donate money or masks or food, not just post something that makes you look good. I want people doing good, not just saying it. Community based activism is what really changes things in this country

Amen. Nothing else to add. Thank you so much for your thoughts anon. It helps to bring light into it, but without actions, we can bring all the awareness we want and nothing will change.

Donations, voting, activism, speaking up in a group, speaking up on your friend group, with your family, educating yourself, and arguing against your initial thoughts... those are the things we need for things to change.

Thinking about the reality that my internship starts on Monday and we get assigned offices.

Is this going to be solely my office I wonder? Can I bring things to it? Cuz I want one of those electric tea kettle things and a couple mugs, some of my psych books, and a nice plant or two (possibly fake ones). You know if it's up to me.
