Honestly thou, Bourgain has had three(!) episodes now. I can’t help but wonder if he’ll have a significant role later on. And like I mentioned in the tag of last post, I saw someone suggesting he could be Guzma’s father, and well... I guess it wouldn’t be such a farfetched idea. They look a bit alike.

The thing with Guzma is that, in the games, he wanted to become a Trial Captain, but was unable to become one due to some reason. It’s a conversation between Guzma and Kukui when the player meets him for the first time. This got me thinking, I’m not sure Guzma can be given this same background, because there are no Trial Captains. So what could have caused him to go so astray in Pokeani? Thou this part has me most curious, taken from Bulbapedia:

At some point, he was part of a group centered around a previous kahuna, but after it was struck down by the wrath of one of the guardian deities, Team Skull would rise from its ashes.

I guess that could still be true in Pokeani, since deities have been described as the kind that either help or well, be destructive. Anyway, since I’m still believeing in Guzma debuting in Pokeani at some point, I’m looking forward to seeing how they’ll explain Skull Gang’s origin, and Guzma’s background. :o
