Fic Rec Friday Intro and FAQ
I can’t do multiple posts with elaborate reviews/commentary today. I just wanted to say that over the last few months, while I was grappling with this overwhelmingly depressive sense of doom, profound sadness, hopelessness, and apathy, reading fanfiction was one of the most effective types of escapism I engaged in.
So, here are the fics that I have been reading, keeping track of, and loving:
You don't understand... I'm obsessed with them
There are like... 10 shuriri fics on ao3 rn... I've read them all and am now in serious need of more pls
Should I do a Namor one next??? 👀
I don’t know something about Ryan being kinda odd and pushing for the whole Namor thing is not cool. Shuri and Riri being reflections of each other and being able to forge such a fast and genuine bond out of being understood and accepted is what love is about.
Since I’m still recovering from Black Panther. Here’s what I loved about the way they did grief as someone who is grieving . Spoilers ahead!

What I loved about the movie is the different characters and how everyone was at different stages of grief. For me, it just showed how it isn’t always just linear. I saw bargaining and angry in Ramonda, as she is STILL getting over the lost of her husband and child. In Shuri I saw denial and angry then sadness. In Nakia I saw acceptance and depression. In Okoye I saw depression.
Each character was on a different place in their grief and it showed that that there is no wrong way to grief. That one day we’ll be okay. It’s gonna be okay.
