Our Voice teacher David suggests brahmari technique as a perfect stress relief with a very positive therapeutic effect to the whole body. When you close your ears and produce a humming sound, the resonators in your head and your chest start vibrating, spreading the vibration to the nearby organs.
According to a recent research, regular brahmari practice significantly improves the condition of people after surgery, has a very positive effect on pregnant women, fetus and labour itself and is very benefitial for cancer patients.
To get a better effect you need to start humming in a low voice, that is how the vibration works with abdominal organs, then you need to change to a higher pitch, which activates resonators in your chest and finish with even more high pitch which "turns on" resonators (sinuses) in your head. The benefits of the practice are emptiness in your head and lightness in your body.
